We had a great vacation in Kenyan wildlife. Maasai Mara was a bucket list item and it was worth the wait and cost. AJ Kenya Safaries turned out to be a perfect choice as every expectation was exceeded. We got to see the Big 5 plus much more and were also fortunate to witness the Wildebeests crossing the Maara in large numbers. Soloman was a perfect guide / driver and he knew every corner of the park and all the tricks of the trade 😃 overall would recommend them any time. Full transparency provided in what they offer and they deliver what they promise 😊

This was a wonderful experience for me. My tour guide, Peter, was punctual, patient and had such a pleasant disposition. He managed time properly so we could do all the activities planned for the day, and even went above and beyond recommending places for us to go to, as well as giving us a native's insight on navigating Nairobi. I 100% recommend AJ Safaris.

A big thank you to James for helping me plan and experience 8 wonderful days in Kenya: Nairobi,Maasai Mara and Ol Pajeta. This customized flying safari went far beyond my expectations and was very meticulously planned by the entire team. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler and got to see the best of Kenya. My flight to Nairobi was delayed by few hours but Gladys and Peter were right there waiting to receive me. I did not lose out on any activities planned. All staff were extremely courteous and friendly. I had the land cruiser all to myself which was a big plus for game drives and spotting all the action. Every accommodation was perfect. Overall a fabulous experience. Highly recommend this company to everyone. I will definitely reach out when I plan my next trip here!!!! Asante Sana 😊

We had never traveled to Kenya before, and, as Americans, were being steered toward American or European travel companies to coordinate our planned honeymoon in the country. Our intuition, however, was that a Kenyan company could be just as good and significantly cheaper.

We were right. AJ Kenya was a delight to work with from the beginning and they planned an outstanding 9 day Kenya tour for us that included 4 nights in Diani Beach and 5 nights of safari (Naivasha, Nakuru, and Masai Mara). The entire trip we felt safe and heard. And the final price came in around 60% of what we had been quoted by American travel companies for the equivalent trip. Insofar as there were any hiccups on our otherwise amazing honeymoon, they were very minor, and certainly did not warrant the upcharge that the American and European travel companies add for their services.

Two quick shoutouts. First for our guide, Peter Kimani. After our trip to Diani beach ended , Peter picked us up from Nairobi Airport and was our leader for the next 5 days as we traveled the country from one safari destination to the next. To say that Peter is good at his job would be an understatement. With over 20 years of experience leading safaris under his belt, he is a veritable expert on almost all East African fauna and flora and has the birdwatching skills to rival some of the world's best. He knows everyone in the Kenyan safari world and never once led us astray during our trip. If we are ever fortunate enough to do another trip like this (and we hope to) we will be requesting that Peter guide us without question.

Second shotout is for AJ Kenyas manager James. From the moment we reached out to him he was quick to respond and attentive to our needs. He scheduled Zoom calls with us learn about our interests and help plan a trip that worked for us. And once we landed in Kenya we were in constant, quick communication with James via WhatsApp which made travel logistics easy.

If I had any constructive criticism for the company it would be that there could be a bit better communication early on about the visa and travel requirements to enter th country. Kenya actually has a surprisingly high number of travel forms that Americans need to acquire before entering the country including a visa (which takes multiple days to receive), an extensive COVID vaccination attestation (also takes time to approve), and another travel locator form that also seems to be COVID related. We researched this ourselves and were able to complete them all a week before leaving, but additional early guidance from AJ Kenya might have made that easier. But that was pretty minor, as everything worked out just fine.

Overall, our trip was outstanding and we would recommend AJ Kenya wholeheartedly to anyone who asked.

I highly recommend AJ safaris to anyone seeking a professional safari tour. James, the person that coordinates the safari is excellent. He’s very responsive over WhatsApp and planned the perfect safari for my needs. My actual guide was a man named Robert. Robert was very professional, kind, light hearted and knowledgeable. He had a 2 year degree is the safari field, which set him apart from other guides out on the safari. AJ safaris also has the best type of safari vehicles, a modified Toyota Land Cruiser. I would suggest staying away from any safari guides that use cheap 2-wheel drive converted vans, which I saw a lot of out on the Masai Mara. My Safari included going to Lake Navashia for 1 night and Masai Mara for 3-4 nights. It was a great experience.

What a wonderful trip! A BIG THANK YOU TO AJ KENYA SAFARIS!!! This was a lifetime experience. As you know, initially, I was hesitant due to my animals’ phobia, but your great team made it happen. How I’d have missed this life-changing experience.

Day 1: We were picked from Nairobi at 6 am as Polycap, our tour guide of the safari hand promised. After a warm greeting, we were welcomed to our vehicle en route to Naivasha Sanctuary farm and Crescent Island. We had the best time enjoying horse rides among wildlife at the Sanctuary Farm. Crescent Island was equally good as we took a boat ride at Lake Naivasha and then had a walking safari among wild animals. It was a great drive with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where we took photos of the escarpment.

Day 2: We had a fantastic time at hell’s gate admiring the two towers, water-gouged gorges, rocky towers and volcanos. The best part of this adventure was bike riding. Later, we left for Lake Nakuru, and it was pretty fulfilling to see the flamingos. The lake also had a lot on offer including zebras, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, and dozens of birds.

Day3: What a team that knows how to keep time. On day 3, we were up by 6:00 am for a morning game drive. At least we managed to see the animals that we had not seen the previous day.

At 10 am, we were out of the park heading to Masai Mara. We had a stopover at Narok town for lunch and then continued with the journey, which took us close to six hours.
Day4: On this day, we had a Game drive at Masai Mara. We saw the BIG 5, and we were blessed to see the wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River. Our hearts, mind and eyes were filled with an abundance of wildlife.

Day 5: This was our last day, and we had to maximize it. Morning hours we had a game drive, and later we visited Masai village, where we had a wonderful experience of the Masai culture. I did not get enough of the five days and I plan on heading to Masai Mara with AjKenyaSafari again.

Our safari to Tsavo East and Amboseli National Parks was a dream come true for my friends and I. We didn’t know we could do a safari to other parts of Kenya (we have done Nairobi Park and Masai Mara) until James suggested we try Amboseli and Tsavo.

The safari cost was within our budget, and using a 4x4 land cruiser was a plus - we have always used safari vans for our trips to save cost.

The trip started from pickup in Nairobi, and off we started the journey to Tsavo East at 6 am. It was a short drive of about 5hr. We were at the camp at noon, took lunch, and then went out for an afternoon game drive.

The next day's game drive was even better. We carried packed lunch from the hotel and went deep into the park, looking for the elusive leopard. We didn’t find this cat, but we managed to spot black rhinos, hippos, buffalos, lions, elephants, and other animals. It was a successful adventure as we managed to spot 4 of the big five within that short time.

On day 3, we checked out of the hotel and started the short drive to Amboseli. I didn’t know there was a lake called Lake Challa! Thanks, Peter, our safari guide, for making a stopover at this spectacular lake. We had some drinks here before continuing with the road trip to Amboseli. We were settled in the camp by noon, took lunch, and then went out for an afternoon game drive.

Amboseli was full of elephants - dozens and dozens of them. The next day's game drive was also quite successful as we saw cheetahs, lions, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, and other animals. The best part was the observation hill. We could see animals and aquatic birds at Lake Amboseli. We also had drinks at the hill while enjoying the spectacular view of Mt Kilimanjaro.

The 5th day saw us check out by 10 am and then enjoy the drive back to Nairobi. We will be heading to Masai Mara in July for the migration with Aj Kenya Safaris.

Prior arriving in Kenya, James and his team helped us make sure we’ll have our e-visas ready and they communicated very well with us, sharing all about our booking.
Once in Kenya we had a very fruitful and peaceful stay. Peter was our guide throughout the trip to the Masai Mara, and he made sure we’d leave with great pictures and precious information, increasing our knowledge on wildlife.

We can highly recommend booking with them and traveling with them while in Kenya.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Masai Mara, and we had an absolute blast. The Mara is breathtaking, but I strongly feel that this trip wouldn’t have been as successful without Gladys who helped us plan the whole trip and Johah, our designated safari guide. He expertly maneuvered us around the Mara to get us as close as possible to its wonders than I ever thought possible. Even when we encountered a few bumps in the road, he handled it with expertise and humor, keeping everyone calm and entertained. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

My husband- an animal lover- was particularly pleased with the amount of wildlife we could observe up close. From a group of elephants that surrounded our jeep to countless birds and antelope, it was an amazing experience. We even witnessed the pride of lions hunting and feasting on their prey! It's something I'll never forget.
