The Estate is absolutely beautiful and a great escape from the busy city. The Tour Farm to Cup is very recommendable. The Guide tells you all about the process of coffee making, selling etc.. You can even try out roasting some beans. You go the the farm and see how the actual fruit looks and how the picking is done. After the coffee tasting, you can enjoy a three course meal in the garden. The Cook is very good - the food was great! You can also buy coffee directly from the farm.
Great price value!

We passed a truly outstanding Saturday morning visiting the Karunguru Coffee Estate in Thika. After first being treated to a delicious cup of coffee with cookies, our wonderfully informative guide Anthony took us on a tour of the estate which was quite fascinating and made us realize how much botanical science and back-breaking physical work went into planting, nurturing and preparing coffee beans for roasting and shipment. At the tour's conclusion, we were served a lunch that was, hands down, the best meal we have had since arriving in Kenya five months ago -- delicious yam soup with garlic bread, little miniature grilled and sauced chickens in beds of pallou rice, green beans in coconut sauce, sauteed egg plant and perfectly prepared ugali with fresh vegetables. Absolutely amazing! Anthony ate with us and even helped us order a Bolt taxi for our next destination. A wonderful experience that we would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful visit today with a very knowledgeable and helpful guide Anthony and Alex who made us delicious coffee. The best I’ve ever drunk in Kenya.
We visited the whole property which is beautiful and learnt everything about producing outstanding coffee and the advances being made in plant health.

As real coffee addicts my wife and me always wanted to see coffee growing and processing stages. So when we went to Kenya visit to a coffee farm was an important part of our tour. We selected Karunguru coffee farm as it is not a kind of attraction for tourists but a real farm where real coffee farmers are ready to show you and explain every stage of their work. When we arrived to the farm we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Gitau, who is one of the farm managers and member of the family that owns the farm. Mr. Gitau kindly showed us the whole farm as a guide and explained us everything. The farm has lovely sights so you will definitely be impressed if you are interested in coffee. After the walk round the farm we had a very good homemade lunch at the mansion. We had a great time at the farm and recommend everyone who loves coffee to visit Karunguru Coffee Estate.

I had spoken with Wangeci who was very helpful in planning for the day, she liaised with the staff on ground as she was not available on that particular day. My friend who was visiting us is a coffee addict :p so it was an ideal trip.
The farm is easily accessible from the main road and directions were quite straight forward. We arrived on time and were immediately served with fresh coffee and a snack.
The tour was very detailed as we walked through the farm and got to see the different stages of the coffee trees and the different varieties as well. The coffee pickers were on farm collecting and unfortunately we were unable to see them in action. We went to the small factory where they do the separation of the berries and got to see how they separate the varieties and the drying of the coffee. It was very interesting. The farm however does not process the coffee, they outsource for roasting.
The farm is quite old but well maintained. We thereafter had a hearty lunch in the mansion of the house where we got to interact with the family of the owners of the farm.
We also bought some coffee and other products. The walk was not tiring at all, it was relaxed and we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. My coffee addict friend appreciated the whole experience and now appreciates her daily cups of coffee even more.

We didn’t know what to expect and we were thrilled by the entire experience. The farm is a bit out of town and is located in beautiful countryside. We were greeted with cookies, coffee, and muffins before starting the tour. While learning about the process from bean to roasting to grading, we were fascinated by the clear explanations done by Anthony. He then escorted us through the trees and gardens, showing us how the staff lives. We saw the drying pans and sorting equipment, finishing with tastings. We were even served a delicious lunch. We loved the experience and appreciate our morning cup of Joe so much more!
