Doi Suthep is a 30 mins drive from Chang klan and can get busy during peak season. drive up to the foot hill and either take an elevator or walk up the steps. The climb can be trying but good feel. foreigners pay some 30THB. the drive upto the foothill is also scenic. take some drinking water with you. the... More

We were warned about the huge crowds but fortunately it was relatively quiet. We opted for the cable car, way too many steps for us oldies. The temple was very interesting, the views were breathtaking. We stopped at the waterfalls on our way out went in for a quick dip, slippery but nice. A fairly long drive from Chang Mai... More

A trip up Doi (Mountain) Suthep is a very hard drive but has some beautiful views along the way. However when you arrive at the top it is a collection of the usual market stalls that you get everywhere; not special. Try to do the trip early morning, views are best, also avoid the worst of the traffic and on... More

If you have 1 day and would like to visit a hill that is not so far from town by car, then Doi Suthep-Doi Pui is a good option. Doi Pui is where hill tribe lives, there's garden with coffee shop and water fall that isn't so big. Of course there are shops!

We took the red bus to zoo (30 baht each from old town) and another around the park. Round trip was advertised as 180 baht based on ten people but since we were two separate couples, they offered a deal of 200 baht each so we didn't have to wait for a full bus. We had three one hour stops... More

this one a natural park that is adjacent to town. Good for those working people who love nature but do not want to travel so far

The forested mountains Doi Suthep-Pui National Park are more impressive than I expected, especially when viewed up close. The forest is well protected and there are lots of birds! Enjoy a hike or hire a vehicle to take the winding road up to the wat on the mountain.

We booked a tour last minute to see the national park and all it had to offer-must admit this was a great day out. Although the weather was cloudy we still had an amazing day-the waterfalls, wildlife, walking in the forest for two hours, swimming in the waterfall and visiting the little village where we drank local coffee around a camp fire.... Started walking up to the top but only got half way when it started to rain hard. Waited for quite a while under a pavilion roof about half way up and watched the river grow brown and the flow really increase, enjoyable. Some people were swimming in the pools along the river and others brought picnics. There was food to... More
