This is an impressive 12,000 spectators hosting amphitheater with excellent acoustic. It is part of Epidaurus temple complex. We visited at 5:30 pm when most tour buses are gone and it's not so hot and you enjoy the light of the early evening sun.

We went to the site yesterday. The theater is in such great condition. You can see where there was a little restoration work, but the majority of it is intact. Truly awe inspiring. We sat and enjoyed the atmosphere for quite some time, watching the...More

At our third visit to this magnificent theater, I had brought my harmonica with me to play Bluesette in honour of the late great Toots Thielemans. So I stood on the center stone and started to play. However, after 9 notes one of the two...More

The theatre is amazing and the acoustic is excellent. The museum and archaeological site nearby is also good. However, I think that the price of 12 Euros is excessive for locals.

The theater is absolutely amazing. The acoustic is stunning. When you sit there and start thinking about the history of the place that dates back to 300 BC, you get the shiver! It was truly a unique experience. A guided tour where you are given...More

Any. My personal favorite section is close to the highest point, not in the middle but rather close to any of the 2 corners. Acoustics are excellent and the angle view of the theater is superb.

Any tips on the best way to get there and back from Athens for a performance at the festival in August?

I booked guided bus trips from my Athens hotel for most places in Greece. This included trips to Sounion, Delphi, Mycenae, and Epidaurus.

We will be in Epidaurus the week of August 6, 2017. When will the schedule for music performances go on-line, and how do we buy tickets for them? (We are in New York.) Thank you.
