Just did stage 9 (16 km) out of 16 Juliana Trail stages (267 km alltogether), trekking path that embraces Julian Alps. We started in small town of Podbrdo, climb app. 800 m to sedlo Bače and descend to Bohinjska Bistrica, again app. 800 m down. We were lucky to be on a promotional stage with local know-it-all Joze Dakskobler, guy who know a lot of history and tells it in a very pictoresque way. We enjoyed excellent views and peaceful meadows since the aim of Juliana Trail is to avoid mass tourism places. In the end we had a nice cold beer and excellent burger in Okrepcevalnica Stacion near Bohinjska Bistrica railway station.

Juliana Trail is not really a trail. It consists of many kilometers of paved road with some traffic, many kilometers of gravel road, very few trails.
The area is very nice - we found our own trails.

Please call it Juliana road walk. Probably half of the distance are paved roads, the rest agricultural or forest roads - no single trails.
If you enjoy walking with cars passing every 2 minutes, then this is your walking destination. If not, you can find much nicer trails in the same area.

We only hiked two stages (6 and 7 in Bohinj) of this amazing trail beginning of October, but were thrilled nevertheless and with Covid-19 hopefully improving by summer, we plan on going back to hike the entire Juliana Trail starting with stage 8 and doing the whole circle!
