It is quite similar like in the movie The Godfather. You can sit by a table only for photo, but you can eat and drink by an other table. It is very popular, but nice to have a drink or a food there because it is not so noisy. There is a food called “Apollonia” and “Michael” and there are very tasty and huge. You can find pictures on the inside from the movie. It is a very great place for movie fans.

Owner and manager is extremely rude to Godfather fans. Only allows u to take photos if you pay for a table and the cost for food and drinks is ridiculously high. He’s kills the atmosphere and experience. He’s bleeding The Godfather for all it’s worth, what a shame.

Cute little bar where they filmed the godfather. Part of our tour aboard a Fiat 500. The lemon Spritz with Limoncello was absolutely delicious, (a little sweet I asked for soda water instead of tonic), the pistachio panna cotta was incredible! Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Famous for being in the Godfather movie and a pleasant, shady spot for a drink or a coffee. and you can take a photo. That's about it. It does serve meals and have accommodation.
The road up to Savoca is steep and windy, but in spots, it does offer fantastic views over the sea.

I'm so glad we took the drive out here, even in the absolutely scorching weather. The bar is fantastic and did not disappoint, food was good (maybe slightly overpriced) staff were friendly and happy to leave us chatting with our drinks. If you are a Godfather fan then you must visit.

Tourist trap, owner very nasty and spoiled by success. We had a reservation since May. Drove from Taormina for lunch and the owner suggests I should speak to his staff person by phone. Seems something was lost in translation and they didn’t honor the reservation. When I showed the owner the email confirmation he said I ask too many questions and told me to find another place in town and I was not eating there. What a jerk. In retrospect I’m glad to not have brought my wife and children to that place. My best suggestion is to do the same. Historical gimmick of a place.

Only famous because of the Godfather film. A nice place to visit but for those with vertigo, think twice. The road to get here is scary. The taxis will charge you 25 Euros each way which makes it a very expensive trip. Walking from the train station would take at least two hours and the road is dangerous, no pavements. Food and drink expensive. A beer is 6-8 Euros. In the next bar it is 2!

Bar Vitelli is located in gorgeous Savoca, Italy on Piazza Fossia. The building is an 18th century palace built by the Trimarchi family in a Sicilian Neoclassical style. We had a driver, so it was easy to access (there are also Godfather location tours). This is the spot from the famous scene where Coppola filmed Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) asking the owner for his daughter Appolonia's hand in marriage. An offer the her father couldn't refuse ("I am an American, hiding in Sicily. My name is Michael Corleone. There are people who'd pay a lot of money for that information. But then your daughter would lose a father instead of gaining a husband." I only had time for a cappuccino, but it was lovely sitting outside under the green canopied vines. There weren't many people around since I was visiting off-season. Please be courteous when you visit as this is owned by real people and it isn't Universal Studios. But you can go inside and see memorabilia from the movie. And buy a Bar Vitalli T-shirt... I even wear mine w/a black or white skirt. The town itself is a wonderful (but hilly) place to walk. Bar Vitelli is a great place to start.

Bar Vitelli lives on the name it attracted in the Godfather movie. The food prices (unfortunately) reflect that ….but not that year as it’s prices are 2023 and not reflective! It’s fun to see however.

The bar is located in the main square and is famous for the God father shootings. May be they think they are still shooting and need to face-control people :) A middle aged guy, presumably the owner, did not allow us to get inside and was weirdly standing in front of the entrance to prevent people from making pictures. May be he thinks he owns all the related copyrights. At a certain point he suggested that we enter one by one, like at the doctor’s. We moved to the bar on the other side of the square and met other people that were basically sent by this master of hospitality.
