One of the Odescalchi family castles and residence in the area. Right on a nice beach. I think it can be visited with a permit.

3 euros to enter was cheap. There was one English guide named Giofrancco whose English was good enough to guide us. All tours are guided and the history depicted to us was told with pride and great explanation. It's about 1 hr for the tour...More

Santa Severa has a lovely beach. Before you head there, stop by the Castle. It can be a quick visit and there is some information posted so you can learn its' history.

From now till 31. Aug 2014 there is a special opening of the Santa Severa castle daily, except Mondays from 17-19:30. You have to book in advance as all tours are conducted by an Italian speaking guide. It's surely an interestic site but unfortunately one...More

We took time out from museums to visit the chilly winter shoreline to see the Santa Severa castle. The waves crashed in and the sky was dramatic. What a nice break to walk along the sand, watch surfers in wetsuits and just breathe fresh air....More
