This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

This place is worth visiting from Bangalore. Don't expect a great hill station, but you can visit on weekend with family. The Advantage for this place is the distance from Bangalore. It is hardly 3 to 4 hours journey from any point of Bangalore. Only we have to bear Airport traffic. Once you cross the airport, you don't have traffic... More

Went there on a Sunday morning. Pros: 1. The drive there was an absolute treat. 2. The place is well maintained. Quite a lot of greenery. 3. A lot of photography options concentrated in a small region - View points + Temple (and caves) + Stepwell + Old Havelis (of Gandhi and Nehru) + Forts (small one though) Cons: 1.... More

Great place to be, but I would like to write down what I didn't like of course. Had a really bad experience at the gents. On top of the ticket fee, they demand 5rps for the loo (still dont know if thats an approved rate, noticed that the fee amount has been conveniently erased), that too with no water or... More

A quick half day trip from the city, the attractions include remains of Tipu Sultan's fort and an old temple at the top of the hill. There are two good times to visit; one for sunrise and the other at sunset.

Nandi Hills, about 60km from Bangalore is good destination for quick half day trip. The last few kms to the top have steep hairpin curves, and newbie drivers should take them cautiously. There no good options to eat at the top but you can bring your own food and eat without littering the place. Beware of the monkeys. Either you... More

Beautiful view, crowded but plenty of areas to explore and take in the scenery. Food options available. Certainly a gem.

If you have the chance to reach there by the early morning to see the sunrise, you should not miss it. It is a very nice day trip as an escape out of the loud and crowded Bangalore. Also a nice place for families, as you can walk easy from the parking space to the top of the hill and... More

This hills is one of the best one in bangalore that must be visited. We planned our bike ride to Nandi hills for new year celebration. That was an osm moment and it was lucky to drive through the thick mist surrounded in the devanahalli road which is on the way to Nandi hills. We heard that it had been... More
