About
This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

- SMLikestoTravelBengaluru, India262 contributionsOk for one time visitWe visited on a weekend in the afternoon, around 1 pm. We got a place to park our car and then boarded the bus that takes you to the top of the hills. The view in the afternoon is not so bad, maybe not as nice as it would be at sunrise or sunset. It was crowded at the top but not too bad to ruin our experience. There are a lot of monkeys near all the food stalls so buy something at your own risk. Overall, definitely worth a visit one time. Not sure how it would be early morning. Have read and heard from folks that planning to visit at sunrise is tough…need to reach very early to get entry and very crowded and chaotic. So, did not attempt that ourselves. If someone is really keen on having that sunrise experience without much hassle then probably overnight stay at one of the properties at the top can be a good optionVisited October 2022Travelled with familyWritten 20 January 2023

One among such place near to a big city is Nandhi Hills! The road trip to this place is just adorable! Can go with family, friends. Nature is the only way were peace can be expected. So give a try visiting this place, will surely enjoy. The view from the hills are just amazing, most of the facilities are available. The most attractive part is the nandhi Idol! - Sonal AgarwalBengaluru, India47 contributionsBetween the cloudsIts a nice place but its also over crowded. We went by bike and trust me it was difficult to move from the crowd area. the gate open at 5:30 am and people rush to get inside. Then immediately you have stand in the queue to get the tickets. It was difficult to park our bike, although there is enough parking. People go crazy during weekend. I dont like crowded area and I just wanted to run away from the place. But the weather was very nice, cool and pleasant. it was drizzling and was little cloudy. I would suggest to go over the weekday early morning and feel the vibe. There is a restaurant also over to the top. One has to walk for around 1 km to reach the top and if u cant walk, buses are available for 25/- per head. but if you want to enjoy the nature and weather, walk and take pictures as much as want. One can spend 1-2 hours which is enough to explore the whole hill. I would also suggest to wear shoes because of monsoon it gets little slippery and also carry a warm jacket, it can get cold in the morning.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 18 September 2023

Senseless restrictions, too much traffic, hopeless management. Officials, Better find another job if u can’t manage it properly. Feels overhyped because of these.

Very nice place you can spend a whole day here.
Surroundings are little costly though.
Morning sunrise is the best time to visit.

Nandi Hills, Karnataka – a slice of heaven for all you nature buffs out there! Seriously, if you haven't caught the sunrise and sunset vibes here, you're missing out on life's ultimate Instagram-worthy moments. Picture this: the sun doing its majestic rise and fall, painting the sky with colors that'll blow your mind. 😍
And oh boy, let's talk about that sunrise game. The way the first light creeps in, revealing the landscape below, it's like magic unveiling right before your eyes. 🌅 And sunsets? Don't even get me started! You'd think the sky turned into a canvas, with every shade of orange, pink, and purple you could imagine.
But hey, heads up: this place isn't a hidden gem anymore. That gate swings open at 5:30 am, but folks start queuing up from a wild 3 in the morning! Yeah, the hype is real, my friend. But trust me, it's all worth it.
And did I mention the small trek? It's like nature's way of saying, "Hey, earn these breathtaking views!" You hike up a bit, and BAM – the whole world just opens up in front of you. It's like a giant reward for taking a leisurely stroll. 🚶♂️
So, if you're down for stunning sunrises, mind-boggling sunsets, and a place that'll make your heart race with nature's beauty, Nandi Hills is where you need to be. Don't miss out – Mother Earth really showing off here! 🌄🌿

This place is absolutely amazing to visit,
You'll find young crowd and amazing people around you.
It's recommended that you leave from Bangalore atleast around 4 A.M to see the sunrise.
It was a great experience, would surely go again.
Also, remember to only take water with you, food is not allowed as there are wild animals (mainly monkeys)

Awesome place for scenic sights and spectacular sunrise and sunset.
We reached post the sunrise, however the view and the visit to Nadi & Shiva temple were worth cherishing. You can have some beautiful nature clicks if you are into flora and landscape.

Went today for a trekking without a guide. However the Gate was.losed till 5.39 and no ibstru tions were given to where I. An start the trek. So ended up that I waited till they opened the gate and went uphill with the car. Thousands of vehi les were on route
At the top, it wascloudy and foggy so really saw nothing.. But the vibes were nice with literally thousands of visitors every where.
Would re commend it but book a guide for sure. Else do t go on your own
