It's a 20 minute walk from Old Town but worth a stretch of the legs - there really is no need for a taxi.

You can walk around the garden in an hour or less, and it only costs 5 GEL each so more of a token gesture rather than a fee.

After Bagrati church we went there, it is good to take a long walk and enjoy the views. The smell of nature is wonderful. Interesting flowers and one cute dog, he was very friendly. Just a good place maybe for a morning run, not far from Bagrati even by walking.

Small but houses many varieties. It's a good walk from the city center but can be done as a romantic trip with the loved one.

Enjoyable garden along the NE side of the river 1.5 km from Colchis fountain. Tall shady trees often with a note with name of the species in Latin script. There are also many plants with flowers in full bloom even though, end of September when I visited, is late season.

Remarkable is a hollow tree with enough space for one person to worship icons of madonna with child and of other (Georgian) saints.

A pity there is no access to the banks of the river.

To reach the garden follow the westbank of the river in NE direction. It is possible to continue to the dam in the river further NE, cross over and walk back to town following the eastside of the river. Some 5 km in total. On Google maps you will find the location of the dam at Gumat Hess.

Entrance fee to the garden: 1 Lari

Entrance cost ₾1. Unfortunately not much to see a few flowers but looks just like any wooded area. There is 1 thing to see and that is the church inside a tree. The tree has been burnt or calved out and a door put on it with a small 1 person church inside. On the tree next to it is the church bell. So was worth the ₾1 just to see the tree. Don't get me wrong it's a nice stroll.

A quiet place to read with a redwood tree overhead. There is potential, but currently it's just a nice place to hang out with local dogs.

If you are bored by walking around noisy kutaisi, you can spend nice hours in the gardens. The entrance fee is very cheap.

The end of a busy day sight seeing, the gardens were our last visit. Time to chill and wander around slowly taking in all the different plant and trees species.

We sat around the huge tree just admiring its superb stature.

The little ‘church’ was a surprise discovery in a hollowed our tree.

Cost only one Lari and on a gorgeous day like we had was well worth the visit.

It can be walked to from the centre in about 20 mins.

The entry costs 1 Lari and it is exactly what you get. I am used to visit botanical gardens, because you can't make a mistake visiting them. It turned out that exception to this rule is in Kutaisi.

There were not many flowers in the garden (like in overall, not those in blossom), and the garden itself is very badly maintained, big parts are probably not maintained at all. Also some parts of the garden were messed with litter all over the place (bamboo place), noone was cleaning there for a long time.

To say something positive: the lady at the cashier spoke english and was a nice and helpful person.
