Two hours and a half queue under the snow for a visit that last 20 minutes. Staff speaks only russian , no english. All people working there were unpolite. The place is completely disorganized. Rushing from a room to another in a huge crowd of people. At the end we lost a full day for this visit that wasn't worth... More

We took a tour in April, when the temperature was around freezing but were dressed for the weather. The tour explained some very important aspects of the history of St Petersburg. As we approached the palace a small group of musicians asked the tour guide where we were from and as we walked by they played an American and then English... More

Located approx 40 mins from Saint Petersburg, the palace is a gem and a must see. Love the interior deco and especially the Amber Room. Too back pictures are not allowed in the Amber Room. The grounds of the palace is beautiful as well and worth some time strolling around even if it's cold.

We managed to avoid the crowds by going over the Christmas period. Words are inadequate to describe the splendour, and you start to see why there was a revolution.

Only a few rooms restored. 4 hour waits in line. Amber room beautiful but not worth the trip, the wait, the price when there are so many more beautiful places to see. Nice garden but not spectacular. Doesn't hold a candle to Peterhof.

The palace is sumptuous and gives a good impression of life in such exotic surroundings. The sheer opulence is staggering. The gardens are beautifully designed and even with most buildings shut in winter are well worth the visit.

While better to come in the summer time , we had a very good visit here with zero lines or crowds. Audio guide worked well. They have done and continue to do a bunch of restoration. Main hall and amber room are highlights Too wet and cold to spend much time in the Park We have our hotel in St... More

We booked a guided tour with SPB free tours and didn't have to queue at all. Go in winter time, not only will the parks be covered in snow, but you'll have time to really look at all the rooms and the details. We stayed at the amber room for nearly 20 minutes - it was a wonderful experience!
