Visited as part of our Russia tour. Beautifully renovated, very impressive. However, the crowds were hard to bear in some areas.

Went as an excursion on an organised group tour. The architecture of this amazing place alone is worth a visit, but the interior decor is truly breathtaking, in particular the Amber room and the Ballroom. Some parts are still under renovation from damage caused in...More

I suggest to visit it in the period from May till October. First go round the park, which is amazing. It will take around 1.30-2hrs. After go to the palace and take excursion. Ballroom and amber room are fabulous.

Hi, the queue of garden is fast, therefore it's not long. visitors should pay money for park and palace separately (you will pay money just for park visiting). The park is so beautiful and enjoyable. have a nice time...
We're visiting Russia mid February 2017, would love some help with Catherine Palace. Silly question but it is open in February 2017 (one site said closed till April) . Can we get the train there and pick up an English speaking guide when we're there we'd like ample time to take a troika ride st nearby Pavlovsk park. Aslo someone mentioned taking a boat there? I've read something about that but are the rivers still frozen ? Anything will help
