Arrived early with a guide and avoided the queues. Very busy by the time we left but the gardens offered a nice respite. Glorious in it's colourful decor. Highlights include the Amber Room, Cameron Gallery, main facade and the Great Hall

Well worth the visit. Get there early to avoid the crowds at the gate that build up by 12. We had a guide and it was a great decision and she brought the place and the work in restoration alive for us. Highly recommended

It rained and rained but what an experience. The privilege of walking through the palace and experiencing the grandeur of decades ago - priceless. TIP : buy tickets before as the ques are long.

Spectacular building especially when you see the photos of how badly damaged it had been in the past.

Lots of people waiting to visit the palace but it was worth the trouble. Such a beautiful place how did people live like that I wonder - they must of spent all the time polishing the gold.

Even though most of the items on display in the museum have been restored or replicated, the palace is worth visiting for a glimpse of Tsarist history.

Hi there we went in January 2017 and it was open. I don't see why it would be closed in Feb. We did the palace and the troika ride. It is very difficult to get there by public transport as not many people speak English... More
