The five of us really liked visiting Batoche National Historic Site. We were there today, on Louis Riel Relay days, and although none of us raced we had a good time watching the participants. Some great views of the river and surrounding area. Lots of...More

We returned to Batch after about 40 years and what an improvement. It is a very large site, and they have added a hop on hop off shuttle system to get you around. The people in the buildings (in period costume, of course) were knowledgeable...More

Batoche is a brilliant site. There is lots to go and see here. We started with a quick look around the visitors centre then watched the film in the cinema room. This gave us a good overview of what was at the site and the...More

Batoche is a historic site maintained by Parks Canada. It features some historic buildings and a cemetery where the Northwest Resistance took place in the 1800s. The story of the Metis settlement and the Red River Rebellion seemed to be more interesting than the buildings...More

Nice to see. You have buildings you can go through and see how they lived, how they fought and the things that were used back in time. Lots of history and price is right. Walk around the grounds and talk to the people that work...More

Spent a warm July afternoon visiting this site of recent western Canadian history. I had previously visited the site and was delighted in the improvements that have been made notably the addition of an open air tour bus and guide. I found the staff were...More

Hi, I will be in Saskatoon for a conference and plan to visit the Batoche NHS on Sept 23, 2016. I have the day free -- just need to be back in Saskatoon by 5. How long should I schedule at Batoche for a leisurely visit? Are there any other nearby sites (Fish Creek NHSC, Duck Lake) worth visiting? What exactly is Middleton's camp? Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.
