Nestled in the upper baranggays ( Villages ) of ormoc city , Lake Danao is easily the largest fresh water reserve in western leyte . The local folk have organized themselves into a cooperative , which has banca rides , floating cottages , and local seafood available for your merienda cena . its a quiet space . you may kayak... The lake is really beautiful. So quiet and clean. For sure, rent a car to get there from Ormoc, it is way too far for a trike. Spend several hours there.

Hidden in the mountains of Ormoc, you find this gem of a place. We spent the afternoon here after a trip to Kalanggaman Island. The wiew over the lake and the sorrounding moutain is really breathtaking, and enjoying a meal with family and friends on one of the rafts in the lake, really made this afternoon special. If you visit... More

He helped us with our transportation problem. He guide us. He even give us little information regarding the place, the lake and the people in the area. Thank... More

We rented a barge to cross the lake and spent the day in the middle. WIth bamboo tables and chairs, bring your own food and enjoy the day in the middle of a magnificent lake.

It took us 2 hours to reach the lake. If you wish to commute, it would be better to get a car than a tricycle like what we did. The travel was tiring but the view was worth it all. It sits on a dormant volcano with a cool climate. People can enjoy activities such as kayaking, swimming and picnic.... More
