I took my family here as I had heard it was well worth visiting - not because I was particularly interested in dinosaurs! Although difficult to find - or to try to explain it to a tuk tuk driver, it is worth spending some time exploring inside. Real dinosaur bones that you may be lucky enough to hold (we were!)... It's not much, but it's about 15 minutes of interesting. It's small, compact and all in French. Enjoy!

We spent five to ten minutes exploring the only two rooms of the 'museum' while the half-dozen staff members chatted amongst themselves. A guide would have been useful, as most of the information was written in Lao and French. A little overpriced at 10K kip.

As or other reviews this tony museum only just big enough to accommodate the wonderful stuff they have - why oh why (I muttered to myself all the way around) didn't they at least translate the great French posters into Lao? English would be lovely too but at least we've got the French to fall back on whereas the agony... More

The museum is really small, but what do you expect in such a poor country? Its not the adventure experience you get when you visit a Dino Park back in your homecoubtry with a 4D cinema part and moving dinosaur replicas ;) They dont get any financial help from the government, so they do need the support from visitors. Do... More

As the other reviews mention, it's small and quaint and in French. Despite this, if the curator is there and lets you hold bones and shows you the stuff out the back it makes it worth it. It would be great if they could justify investment but I can't imagine that will happen - get a hold of a dinosaur... More

I had been seeing images of dinosaurs on everything relating to Savannakhet so I was curious to check out the museum. It was 10,000 kip/person and took about 15 minutes to walk through. There wasn't too much inside but why not just stop in? There isn't a ton to do in Savannakhet and they are quite proud of their dinosaurs!

Nice little "museum" for 20 minutes :) Only 2 rooms. Most of signs are in Franch not English so tourists from France can understand more :) Allowed to touch some dinosaurs bones - maybe it is most interesting part

Small but interesting museum. We really enjoyed it here. We both got to hold a t Rex bone! Not going to get that anywhere else I imagine.
