The Chestnut Centre is an escape from the bustle of life, in a secluded natural valley in the Peak National Park. The centre is home to 4 species of otters including the rare Giant Otter, 15 species of owl, tame fallow deer in the deer herd, foxes, pine marten and the elusive, endangered Scottish Wildcat etc. Truly a ‘Hidden Gem in a Hidden Valley”.

Visited this wildlife park today, a couple of hours of walking in a peaceful environment just an hours drive outside of Manchester , well worth the admission price and even though it was raining, still an enjoyable place to be

Went with high hopes of seeing loads of otters running and squeaking wildly- however was left somewhat underwhelmed with the lack of actual animals here. Deer were quite tame and curious. Owls were owls. Otters were not plentiful enough to fulfill my otter needs. Nice...More

My almost 5 year old loves otters! She's adored them since she was 2. her older sister, 7 and her had the most wonderful time here. Beautiful location, friendly staff... great value

I think the feeding times start at around 12.30 but these can change. You can check on arrival or phone before your visit.
