Take note that the castle opens at 10am and if you go early to climb the hill on a hot day to beat the heat, you will not be able to enter (as was the case for me). However, you can walk all around it and get treated to fantastic views which is the best part anyway. Definitely the best... More

Yup, this is a real medieval castle in the heart of wine country! Check the hours because it is not always open for tours. 3 euros per person and is centrally located between Brisighells's three peaks. take your time then find the path to the clock tower then head down to the city for bruschetta and wine. Can't think of... More

The fortress, La Rocca Manfrediana, is easiliy accessible by trail or by walking the road from town. In the summer of 2015 I believe it was open only in the morning, Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 12, so plan ahead. Internal exhibitions were at one time planned but seem to have been abandoned (funding?) In any event, the internal... More

Brisighella was such a lovely surprise for our stay. It's super photogenic with old people just walking around carrying cool canes and wearing fashionable hats. We spent a good amount of time just photographing the place and eating. The castle is a nice walk up the side of the mountain and has a pretty remarkable view of the little town... More

Which you may very well do if you climb the wrong way.....it is a splendid pile with magnificent views and you can drive almost right to the door. But watch opening times.

The castle can be reached by a scenic footpath that starts in the center of this small town or, if you don't feel like walking, you can go up by car. The entrance to the castle costs only 3 euro... Not much to visit a nice castle with wonderful views, especially when one reaches the top! Going up the stairs... More

Amazing views and a wonderful sense of history! It's a good climb up the hill to wear off the calories (or you could cheat and drive)!

As Emy said in a previous review, the Rocca is just one of the pieces of a chain that is rich in history, character and originality. A wise tourist should not miss this 5 minute detour from Faenza by train. We observed the Rocca from the clocktower point, and took a few photos looking down to the unspoilt town of... More

A fun castle to explore with terrific views of Brisighella. 10-15 minute hike up to castle from the town center with 3 euro entrance fee. Best thing is the light and sweet Brisighella extra virgin olive oil - some of the best in Italy. Some buildings have unique, very old second floor porticos (see picture). A good day trip is... The food was everything we hoped for and priced just right but the walls of the grotto were echoey and we found it hard to chat.
