Abraham is like an open book for spices and he likes to share his knowledge.
Abraham is full of knowledge about all the plants in his garden and is happy to share it with visitors. Since we were very interested we spent over an hour walking around his garden, he explained to us what and how it grows and what it is used for, and we were able to try some of the fruits or leaves that he picked on the spot. There is also opportunity to buy spices. Regards to Abraham from three visitors from Croatia.

    Experience of a lifetime!
My family and I recently visited Abraham's Spice Garden and were amazed at all that nature (and Abraham!) has to teach us. The tour, running from Abraham's garden to his vast plantations behind his house, was between 60-90 mins long. Over the course of the tour, Abraham acquainted all of us with countless spices, flowers, plants etc., explaining in clear detail their properties, use, harvest months etc. peppered with anecdotes about the history and life of the plantation. He also encouraged us to taste quite a few of the spices and ask him questions. Pro tip #1: While Abraham may not mention at the beginning of the tour, the fees for the tour is 100 INR per person. Given the labour he invests in each tour, this is well worth your money as you will walk away richer in knowledge than when you entered. Pro tip #2: The plantation has several animals on it. Watch how they interact with Abraham. Must visit!

Learned and Saw So much in an hour!
What a wonderful and interesting experience. The owner is so knowledgable and approachable. I have not learned so much in a single hour as I did on this tour. Some people have complained about the price of INR 100 per person. This is nothing considering the time and energy put into the tour. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who values learning from someone with vast knowledge and experience of spices.

    Very enjoyable and informative
We arrived to be greeted by Abraham a wonderful and charming host. Abraham was incredibly knowledgeable, fantastic at explaining everything in a simple but informative way. He took every opportunity to take the fruit and spices from the trees/plants for us to try, cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, rose apples etc, really incredible tastes. What was also impressive was that he conducted our tour in English and French. His garden is an absolute jewel and featured in the British TV channel (BBC’s) Monty Dons ‘Around the World in 80 Gardens’. This has been one of the highlights of our trip.

Wonderful experience of Abraham’s Garden in Thekkady.
Mr. Abraham personally took us to his garden. He spoke to us in english and while describing plants and trees he referred to hindi and bengali names of the plants and fruits. He referred banana flower as mocha as we the bengali people call it. I was amazed by his knowledge about plants and trees. He showed me his avocado tree full of fruits which I like very much. Aroma of indian spices we got in his garden. He demonstrated many of the plants by plucking the leaves and asked us to taste or to take smell of them. We learnt a lot from him.

    BEST SPICE GARDEN IN KUMILY
We met Abraham after dropping by at the Spice Garden, he was very welcoming and made us feel like we were VIPs. He explained in detail the history of the garden, the separate spices, and even gave us some free bananas for the way home. One of the best activities we did whilst in Kumily. Well worth visiting.

It was a pleasure to visit Abraham's Spice Garden. Abraham was lovely and very knowledgeable. He was able to translate a lot of names of the spices to german which was very helpful. If you visit be sure to buy some spices. I love having spices in my kitchen from a garden I was able to visit myself.
