Beautiful, 5-km walk through the forrest, crossing the river to pass three frozen waterfalls (in March at least they’re frozen). Awesome to see, the middle one we loved most due to the beautiful blue glow of the ice. Cool to see there were people climbing...More

nice path down to the frozen stream, to view both frozen falls (additional 1 km to the blue waterfall) enjoy the stop before climbing up.

Evidently we went in winter. An excursion with incredible views. The most majestic, its icy waterfalls, with professionals climbing (I'm still freaking out).A totally recommendable excursion to do in winter well sheltered.

This canyon hike is a 2.5 hour trip from Rovenami. Best seen in Novemer before the winter temperature drops to minus 40. It's a 5km hike and a moderate level of fitness is advised ad it is back country hiking. Stopping for traditional Sami lunch...More

Very very beautiful. You must visit this magical place. For those who like snow, this is your place. The thickest snow I’ve seen in my whole life. The snow level was up to my thigh and I enjoyed every moment in the forest.

I think people visit this place mostly during winter due to the icefalls, but spring is just as good with lovely details in the nature, when it is waking up :)

We started our 2-day hike from Koivuköngäs, and took the 30-km hiking trail that runs along the canyon all the way to Lapiosalmi. The trail was well marked with orange paint, and it was easy to follow the river Korojoki that meanders along the bottom...More

The approach ia only like 1km from the parking lot. You have couple of lean to shelters and you can make fire there. You should visit this place during winter to see the amazing frozen waterfalls BUT be careful and watch out for iceclimbers. If...More
