Weather, trek, & people all were good. But felt bad about the waste management at this beautiful hill; the administration should think and implement the ways to avoid the plastic usage. As we saw the shop keepers are dumping the used plastic bottles from the top.

I visited this place for the first time and that too solo. It was an incredible experience. The trail was not easy but not so difficult either. I would recommend everyone should go early in the morning by 5:30. Plenty of open space is available for parking. I parked my two Wheeler near that pond. Rs. 15 was charged for parking there.
Water bottle and juice will be available in shops during the hike
Few places were having rusted rods for support . We will have to be careful. This place has few temples on the way and the temple is 3000 years old as per the priest.
You will feel peaceful if you reach early to the peak. Later crowd starts coming.
The trail is not maintained properly. Lots of plastic bottles were thrown everywhere.

It was an enjoyable experience.

We went in Sept when it was slightly raining. The difficultylevelmkeeps increasing as tou climb up the mountain. There is no sufficient restrooms or medical facilities.Although you will find shops in between serving water and snacks. Our kids 10 to 13 yrs were able to climb the entire mountain. But the climb till the top is not recommended for kids. Use proper hiking shoes and avoid any non marking shoes or slippers/ sandals.
Temple is very good and is very old. The view from the top is fabulous.

It is a amazing place to visit..
1. You should park your vehicle below
2. Height : 1300 meter approx 2.3 km trek
3. Proper grip shoe recommended because some steps was shortly than my foot...
4. 60 -70 % of the hill any one with decent fitness can climb, once we ascent close to where everything comes to picture, steps are literally slipper almost with 60 degree angle.
5. I found 4 shops were you can find food, water.
6.Avoid to carry bag because of monkeys, you will be tried.
7. if possible please avoid to going with children because of safety reason.
8. Monkeys are everywhere on top of the hill, they will literally climb you and Rag you.. if have any food items...
9.Once you reach ... you will be blessed with majestic view.
10. Be aware of rusted railing while climbing.

Good luck and safe climbing....

Awesome place, must visit. When you go up the stairs, to the right is the temple but to the left is the longer trek, if you wish to do the trek, inform at the main entry else they force you to remove the shoes and without that you can't go all the way up the trek.
Have fun!

The Shivagange Hills,52 km from Bangalore is one of the best trekking nature place.I visited this mountain on Sep 29th 2019. We started at 12:30 PM in the noon being a sunny day. Initially at the foot hill there are steps with barricades at the ends. As we passed, visited the Huge Nandi. After this the hill way is narrow, stone path.
We reached OlalakalluTeertha point and this is 1/3rd of the trek. There is Shiva temple over here. After visiting Lore Shiva when we take a turn to circle the garbhagudi, there is hole in the rock which is called olalakallutheerta. The people who are taller with long hand can take the water whereas the short handed people do not get the water though they insert their hand inside and water is visible.
From this point, the trek will be bit challenging as only barricades at end and stones step is bit high for the kids where neede to be cautious. On the way there are multiple shops available where water bottles, juices, fruits and snacks are sold. But the sad part is the plastic and other waste is all over. The monkeys around the hill will add the fun to the journey.
Finally after taking some break we reached the hill top ,need to circle the Basava and this spot is dangerous because there is only iron rod to support which is scary. On the top of the hill, we spent for about 2 hours enjoying the beautiful scenery and the wind.

Overall I feel this place is good for one day trek with family . "Its mythological place" consists of many temples with stories

Hey guys, I went from office trip to Shivganga Trek on 28th Sep 19. It was my first trek but must say it was very difficult. Till 80% is like u can go easily and walk on hills but then rest 20% you have to climb like spider man like really. But once you reach on top you will enjoy. On the way there are old ancient Lord shiva temples. We went yesterday and it was amawasya day and so even got lucky to have prasad in temple. 10% of our office collouges came back from mid way due to height fear and dangeraous climb. Go in group then you will enjoy. If you go alone you many not feel to go up. Dont loose hope as you see difficult steps. There are many monkeys as you reach close to peak top. But then wont do anything untill you dont disturb them. There many small shops local people are running on the way so you will get water , lemon juice and some eating item. You can take rest and move ahead. Thats how we went. Go and enjoy...

Do's:
Wear goos grip shoe otherwise you cnt climb properly.
Wear loose and comfortable cloths
Keep water bottoles
Eat breakfast before you start
Go early morning otherwise in hot sun you will feel very tired

Don't:
Dont tease monkeys as they will be sitting on dangerous steps.
Dont try to go fast and run

Keep this points in mind.
Happy treking and safe treking.
Few pics of trekking.
