We visited the falls on Dec 26. We drove from Whitefield & it took close to 4hrs to reach Barachukki falls, There was a moderate amount of crowd - not too much & but given the COVID situation not too less either. Given that there was a good monsoon this year, I thought there would good amount of water given all the rains in November as well. But that was not the case. So in a way the views were disappointing. After the falls, we visited a nearby restaurant - Mayura Barachukki (if I remember the name correctly) - for some snacks. Food was ok & the toilets were clean. However the views from there & the settings + view were fantastic. If you are in the area, then would definitely recommend a short visit to the restaurant. Post that we visited Gaganachukki falls, about an half an hour drive away. Better luck here, since the falls had more water here. Views were dedent here, though I would not say fantastic. After spending about 30mins there we started our journey back home. So total round trip time back home to Whitefield about 10.5 hrs.…

Offlate its been raining quite a bit in Karnataka, hence a trip Shivasamudram Falls goes without saying. There is ample water its pretty scenic currently. We started from Bangalore at about 5:30am and reached at 8:20am. Considering the pandemic, all we hoped was less crowd and bingo, there were hardly a few early birds as us :). It was as fantastic as ever. Tips: Try to reach early, carry eatables and water (as there is not much around, though you could get coconut water and cucumbers etc). Mysore highway is under construction at multiple place so a little later in the day it may have traffic jams.…

Post covid-19 lockdown I decided to head Shivanasanudra falls and I don't regret my decision. It was the best one day trip ever ,we started from Bengaluru in morning around 7:30 having breakfast and reached Barachukki falls by 10:30 AM took Nice Road-Kanakapura Road to reach destination. After NICE Road exit stretch was not that good till Harohalli there were lots of dump trucks and overtaking my sedan required a skill. However after Harohalli roads were well laid till destination and cruising at 80-100 KMPH was a cakes walk. We paid Rs 30\- at the Barachukki falls entrance and Rs 5\- per head to take steps down to view falls. As we reached in right season falls were gushing out with waters and it was magnificent the roar of falls will definitely give you goose bumps . There are few stalls for quick bites and a toilet ( though not well maintained still better than spoiling nature ) . After seeing this fall we proceeded to Gaganachukki falls which is just a km away, this place is habituated by a Dargha and you can take a partial view or one sided view of Gaganachukkii falls peeping through wire mesh gates and for actual falls you have to travel 13 kms from here for another view.…
