The best time to visit the waterfall is between June and September as the water swells up during the monsoon making the fall look incredibly beautiful.

Shivanasamudra is basically two water falls - Gaganachukki and Bharachukki. We visited during March 2017 (making it along with our Mysore trip) but there is no water. It is adviced only to visit the waterfall during monsoons so that it is worth the time spent in travel (around 140km from Bangalore). Bharachukki offers better view than Gaganachukki. Better to have... More

I have visited shivanasamudra water falls 3 times in the last 4 years. First it was 2012 then 2014 and then 2016 and must admit that this is breathtakingly beautiful during rains. Nature at its unmatched best. Approximately 130 KM from Bangalore and around 80 KM from Mysore, This is a must visit for nature lovers. The falls can be... More

If you love waterfalls and driving, this place is worth visiting. Make sure you plan during good monsoon weather to enjoy the waterfall at its peak. Be careful with monkey gangs near the view point.

2 out of 3 times i visited it was closed. Visitors were not allowed near the falls because of some misshap. If allowed to go, you could take a dip in the water, play around and also go for a boat ride. Most of the time the quantity of water is not great. Hence not a mesmerising view. COnsidering the... My heart swells when I right about some great tourist places of India, but at the same time it boils for its poor maintenance by the authorities. This is a great natural water fall and is immensely popular as "Gagana Chukki" and "Bhara Chukki" falls. The place is easy to approach on road and not too far from the main... More

I traveled in the month of june when it was a bit hot. Getting to the view point is an ok tarmac road and really nothing special about it. Though the breadth of the waterfall is huge which would be treat to the eyes in monsoon

This could be spectacular falls if the rains are abundant and the river Kaveri is overflowing, so pls check the conditions before making a trip else you may be dissapointed, one can spend about half hour here taking pictures etc, there are no proper restaurants or seating to enjoy the falls, it can get really crowded on weekends as it...
