being in bangalore a lot of people forget how the country side looks. In a long long time I finally got a place which looks like a way it is described. overlooking a lake around 10 KM from Big Banyan tree (Doddallada Mara).

Xtreme Zone promises fun for the entire family or for friends who want a good relaxing day out in the sun. the only drawback - a visit to this place entails having your own transport (45-50KM from bangalore) and ability to walk 3-4 KM after parking the car through rugged terrain to reach the resort.

The resort people arranged team building activities (Most of their clients are corporates looking to arrange team building activities), and we could go boating (only Kayakking and anotehr type of boat was there) and swimming (Life jackets provided to go jump into the lake), the food can be ordered beforehand veg or non-veg (simple food).

Also people can camp - tents provided (2500/- + for a day night trip with stay).

The resort is calm and serene and away from the maddening crowd of Bangalore. and we had an awesome time.

Pros - good for team building activities, water sports, trekking, rapelling and paintball, amazing view and atmosphere

Cons - Far from Bangalore, quite tiring walking to the resort from road 3-4 KM, need atleast around 10 people - else it can get boring oo soon with nothing else to do all day, basic amneties - no luxury or A.C around :P

We went to this place as a part of team outing activity from our company. First of all, this place is verrrrrry far from the city, so we should have best knowledge about the route else you are lost and time will be gone before you start your activities.

They provide breakfast, lunch and evening snacks, which is of no complaints from us.

To reach the place, you have to do a trek of around 1-1.5km which was very good.

They have quite a lot of activities and you will not get time to try everything. So while booking them, make a list of what and all the team wants to do.

I felt they should more time for water activity as they have a big lake.

We planned this visit to make it the first out in the wild experience for our kids. We booked this place through Campmonk from 11am to 11am next day. It was a 1 day, 1 night booking. Reached the place after loosing the way a couple of times. Finally found their parking space and parked the car. Called their office to send someone to guide us to their camping area. They promised to send someone to guide us, but no one came even after waiting for 30mins. So we started asking the villagers and finally got to the place. It’s a good 1.5km walk which was all fine. Was a great experience for the kids. Reached the place, after a few more calls, the tent got ready, kept our things and then got into the water. It was awfully crowded. By 5 the crowd left, leaving only 4 family including ours (2 families from our side). We thought finally we will have some peaceful time. It didn’t last, another team of 12 men walked in with case of beer and other liquor. Within 30mins, they set up a table and started their rounds, howling and shouting. By 6pm we decided to call it a day, and packed our things, left the place. We cancelled the plan to stay there at the night. We knew it would end up as an unpleasant experience for the kids with some 12 men drinking and shouting in less than 100m from our Tent.

We cannot blame the men, since it’s the responsibility of the management to not allow such booking when you have families booked. Otherwise they shouldn’t have taken our booking.

In short, it’s a poorly managed and run setup. If you planning to visit with a family, please look some other place. They don’t have any security personals maning the place. All in all a Horrible experience.

Long waiting time for each and every activity. Food was bad. Nothing was organised properly. Not at all value for money. In short. Bad!

Around 60 kms from Bangalore this place can be well covered in a day. Prime attraction of this place is the lake (reservoir) side view and some kayaking in the reservoir. They have paint ball and a few other activity which is not someone would come so far, from Bangalore. Note that it is not a full fledged resort where you would get comfortable air conditioned rooms. They have fixed items for meals, which in not bad nor good either. They do have camping gear for people who want to spend night out here. Overall its not bad place but nothing special about it except the reservoir.

Pros:
• Far away from hustles of Bangalore, breathtaking view and scenery behind Savanadurga.
• Ropeway, Paintball and natural watersports all in one great location.
• very refreshing location (great for a 1 day outing)
• Camping available

Cons:
• Overpriced. They are reaping money just on basis of natural beauty not on own efforts.
• Torn/very less safety gears (like ropes, gloves).
• No driving signboards on such an interior location. Great difficulty to reach the spot.
• We had 9 members, but had to forcefully pay for 12 (pre book) which is not genuine.
• Paintball is arranged, but it lacks a good arcade setup ( I mean stage)
• Ropeway is very dangerous, as untrained local teenagers cause accidents.
• Camping @ 3000 INR in such torn tents/ with zip etc not working is idiotic.
• No Diaster management/ Safety plans. (one of our team members met with accident due to untrained staff unable to handle ropes, and the management was scattered, helter skelter)

Hey Siddharth, Thank you for the bouquets and brick bats :). I am glad you liked our location, paintball and the rope course. We have worked very very hard to preserve the natural beauty of the place with our our go green initiative and good waste management services have managed to deliver refreshing experiences to our customers consistently. Let me now address the brick bats. I will pick the safety issue first. Adventure means calculated risks, having said that we have redundancy systems in place. These come into play exactly when there is a nee. I do remember speaking to you when you called me. Our back system did come into play when our belayers rope slipped and your colleague held on to the rope causing rope burns. Our team, who is trained in frist aid attended to it immediately. We have noted this in our safety journal as a non-critical failure and have made the necessary changes to avoid this in the future. Incidents like these do occur, but are not life threatening. Now on the gloves and ropes. Our ropes are in the best condition and we do not use faulty ropes. I am open for an inspection of the same ropes and can explain. Gloves are not torn, but have black marks due to friction and is perfectly ok. The rope course is designed on a self belay system and is manned by trained instructors. We are an inclusive company and collaborate with the local village to provide employment, they help around in moving equipment. Request you to re-look at your observation. Our paintball field is probably the biggest in terms of size, the whole forest is open. I extend an invitation to you, to come and experience a day out with us again. We would love to host you again. Our team will ensure, you go back happy :) Siddharth, what hurts us is that, your feedback is acrimonious in nature. Your team committed a number of 12 people by mail and we had prepared for the same. If you turn up lesser in number and expect us to reduce costs, it is unfair, we have spent time and money based on your commitment. Also, your comment of tents, pricing and torn zips are not relevant, you never camped with us, your experience was just a day with, so why comment on what you have not experienced. Your comment on the paintball field is conflicting in nature, you call it a pro initially and decided to bash it again. To us, your feedback, seems to be built on an acrimonious foundation. We have an option of writing to Tripadvisor and removing this feedback, but we have chosen to leave it here. The online world is truly fantastic and helps everybody make well informed decisions, request you to use the medium judiciously and not with vengeance. Just to make it clear, we are NOT responding to this review in a " Justification Mode". We do understand that, you did want to pay pay us for 12 people and did not think of a fair deal then. Please feel free to call us anytime to redeem your invitation, We will send you back a very happy team and this time around no arguments on payments :). Have a great day!

We went there with colleagues, its located ~60 kilometers from Bangalore and it took us more than 1 hour to reach there. We had to walk offroad through the forest and stones to reach this place and its located at the bank of a beautiful lake. We played paintball there which was okay since the guy in charge didn't do a good job and we gave him feedback for the same, hope he learns from it.

We also did rappelling, it was nice. For those who haven't done this before, its a good experience.

After that we did boating in the river, it was nice since the lake is very calm and the whole experience was very refreshing. Food was average but not disappointing. They also provide option of overnight stay but we didn't opt for it. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is pathetic, doesn't have any recreational ethics. Staff is very cheap and the crowd is pervert. Horrifying experience for women and girls. No proper seating facility. No parking space. No safety for water activities. Zero on 10.

Hi,

We visited this place on 15th of Dec. A group of 15 people. To get to this place, u need to walk about 2kms from the main road. So get ready to do lot of walking in the sun. Secondly, we had expected way too much from what we saw on their website. But our expectations were not met. The rope walks were good. But the paint ball sucks. They dint even give us any jacket that would cover our body. It was dangerous. So we chose not to play because it didnt give people any fun as no body came out of the safe zone because they knew they would be hit. Secondly, the food was okayish. Restrooms were ok types. Not too clean. Only good part was kayaking. Apart from, the amount we paid was totally not worth it [1700 rs] for just the rope walks and kayaking!!

And all the activities would be done by 3pm. So you can say its like a half day outing.
