So wish we'd have heeded the advice of fellow reviewers prior to visiting this place. Interesting history. Interesting tomb. However bullied into buying sheet etc by a guide whilst tired and jet lagged and then heavy handedly jostled inside tomb by 'pilgrims' Chastised for smelling rose petals which wed' bought. Left us feeling exploited.Good learning experience

In the ancient time when Akbar was not having any kid, he visited this place of Salim Chisti, he was then blessed with a son after getting blessings of Salim Chisti. Now the Tomb of Salim Chisti is considered to be the place where the wishes come true. Now based on this concept of making wish, there are sellers/ guides... More

We would have skipped Fatehpur Sikri completely and preferred to have got to Ranthambore earlier in the day.

The mausoleum in Fatehpur Sikri belongs to the revered Sufi saint Salim Chishti who lived at a ridge near the city. It is made of white marble and is one of the most important monuments at Fatehpur Sikri and is worshipped even today by pilgrims.

Our visit to Fathepur sikhri was awesome but it was brought to worst by the people who are sitting near darga and thugging you. I would request people not to visit the Salim Chisti Dargah, because they earn if you put chadar there. The chadar they will force you to purchase for minimum cost of 1100. Please please stay from... Flanked by a beautiful intricate net of marble around it, the tomb of Salim Chisti is a highly revered place, where one and all come to make a wish and seek blessings.

Situated inside the Fatehpur Sikri, Initially a red stone Dargah now been transformed into white marbel one, a beautiful architecture except for the touts who would rather force you into buying a chadder from the vendors inside for making your wish come true(What the Hell ?), they show you that even Katrina Kaif visits here (As if her wishes were... This dargah is very famous among Indians. There is a tradition of tying a thread inside the dargah and making a wish with it...They say with one thread one can make 3 wishes and the no. of knots show the no. of wishes one has made! When the wish is fulfilled, the thread has to be untied... Only thing, beware... More
