Located near the Jodhabai palace. Said to have housed one of his minsters hence the name. Its main feature is the double dome. Inside you see intricate carvings in the walls. As you are in the complex make time to visit this.

Birbal who was one of the nine jewels of Akbar's court used to live here. Originally made for Akbar's queen, the house was given to Birbal. Spectacular from inside, the carvings are beautiful and like other places, it is also made of red sandstones.

In that treasure chest that is Fatehpur Sikri, Birbal Bhavan is perhaps the most amazing gem, due to the incredibly elaborate sculptural decoration of its surfaces, none excluded. I don't remember seeing anything like this in decades of travel.
It is known that the building is named after Raja Birbal (1528-1586), a public official in the highest position at the court of Shah Akbar; as is to be expected after seeing this sumptuous edifice, and its very location, within the imperial palace (a privilege unique among all the courtiers). But apart from this, we know little of the genesis of the building itself, of the context in which its architecture is located and its extraordinary decoration.
Apart from the ubiquitous carvings, architectural elements that stand out from the outside are the "jharokhas" on the first floor, that is protruding loggia windows, which could be called the Indian version of the Western bay windows; and the domes resting on an octagonal drum.
In conclusion: when you arrive in the area of Birbal Bhavan, don't consider it it as one of the buildings in Fatehpur Sikri that can be observed absent-mindedly, but enter it and walk slowly the interior: some moments of pure delight await you.

Birbal's Palace
The residence of Raja Birbal, Akbar's Hindu Prime Minister, one of the most trusted persons and was also one of the Nine Jewels in Akbar's court. It was built in 1571 and is believed to be part of the Imperial Harem and housed Akbar's senior queens, Ruqayya Begum and Salima Begum. Birbal was one of those who subscribed to Akbar’s new religion, “The Divine Faith.” When he perished in an unfortunate expedition against some unruly Afghan tribes, Akbar’s grief was for a long time inconsolable.

I made the mistake of paying to go into the main site, when it really wasn't worth the money. 610 rupees plus 450 rupees for a guide (which is necessary as they provide no information on site) is just too much for this attraction.
