We braved the elements to see the largest falls in Europe. It was in the middle of a snowstorm with high winds but very impressive. Will go & see it sgain one summer!

I don't know how 8 terrible reviews were posted. This is a stunning view. There are 2 falls, not as deep as Niagara but falling water over ice makes a pretty spectacular view. 15 minutes up the road from the geysir. See both.

Huge, beautiful, impressive, powerfall…make sure to see it from the top and the bottom viewing sections. Wow!

An absolute must see if you ever visit Iceland. In fact, scratch that, an absolute must see should you ever visit the earth. Unbelievable place full of natural beauty. Powerful and very cold so wrap up.

unfortunately we got there with bad weather and it was very difficult to reach the place. Nevertheless, once there, the view is breathtaking!

The waterfall is just amazing, such a beautiful place and the waterfall is immense. The walks down to and around the waterfall are well worth doing.

Iceland really is full of beautiful waterfalls. We called it "Hawaii in the Arctic." This is the most frequently visited and therefore set up as most tourists would expect to find it -- guard rails... The gift shop is excellent and there is a nice...More

Stunning waterfall! Do not even attempt to access this area in winter without an organised tour. You'll be stuck in the snow within 5 minutes. The cafe and facilities were excellent with lively fresh food and refillable soup and bread!

One of the most stunning natural wonders I've seen. I could wax lyrical about what a sight it is - but three things you need to do if visiting. 1.) order the traditional Icelandic lamb soup in the cafe - it's mega expensive but worth...More

Absolutely beautiful waterfall. There is a viewing deck to enjoy from afar or you can walk up quite close to it; a must see

How far are the is gulfoss from the reykjavik airport? We arrive at 2pm and then are staying north west but wondering if it is worth driving to see the falls and have a cup of lamb stew and then driving up? What time does it close in mid July? Thanks!

Where are you staying? In which town? The Golden Circle is a must-see and it certainly is worth a detour.

We were on the Golden Circle EXPRESS tour which gave us 45 minutes there in very extreme weather. If the weather had been clear, we'd have wanted longer (not least to walk down the route that was closed on the day we were... More

hello, i am wondering, we want to rent a car for a whole trip so my question is whether there are any entrance fees ( for example Golden circle, or beaches and so on) I know only about blue lagoon, but I'm not sure about this because I find only trips with bus.

There were no entrance fees for the main sites on the Golden Circle (Þingvellir, Gullfoss, and Geysir), although there was a small parking fee at Þingvellir... We also stopped at a large Volcanic crater called Kerið on the... More
