Better than expected good thing that we didn't it today. Powerful. Full of tourist too even in the not so high season. The week when we visited it was still snowy around.

Lovely waterfalls in a wildly natural environment. Not to be missed if you are lucky enough to visit Iceland.

we were there in winter. The view was uite speactacular. it was snowing and slippery so we were not able to view the waterfall from behind. a pity...Otherwise we had a very lovely time and managed to even have a bottle of champagne between the 6 of us.

Visited on a late winter's day, cold with some snow in the air. Unfortunately this gave the view a very flat, grey tone as there was a lot of overcast - not great for photographs obviously, but nonetheless a very impressive force of nature. Our guide told stories of the river in full spate when this must be a truly... More

We visited in March, after recent snowfall - the falls were flowing strongly despite being partially frozen, which made for a beautiful spectacle. We didn't experience the ice hazards on the paths that some have complained about, though the path down to the lower viewing area was closed - didn;t matter though, the views from the other areas were amazing.... We travelled to Iceland from Australia in late Autumn 2016 to photograph its waterfalls, and Gullfoss was at the top of the "must shoot" list. We were not disappointed. Staying nearby for 3 nights meant we could be there at sunrise and sunset over several days. At dawn especially we were able to enjoy and photograph the spectacle of Gullfoss... More

We visited in March 2017 on a cold & windy day, but the magnificence of the waterfalls were truly stunning. Well worth a visit. Large gift shop, cafes & toilets on site. Well worth a visit & on the Golden Circle route.

Great waterfall in middle of nowhere. Free to visit. In winter limited ability to get really close due to ice and snow. Nevertheless impressive.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls I've ever seen. Great views and I'll highly recommend to everyone.
