This attraction is a must see for the history buffs out there. It is well worth a drive to Amherstburg to learn about this heritage. The river is a bonus and we always watch the Canada Day Fireworks here every year. A great family outing for those interested in teaching children about these times.

This museum is very well kept , everyone you encounter is very knowledgable . I like the old costumes to bring back the ambiance of the history . The grounds are well kept and maintained . The buildings are well kept with many historical objects to admire . Worth going and spending time .

The Fort Malden site is a great little day trip for families or history buffs. We used to go as kids with our school but I hadn't been in years before going back a few times over the past 2 years or so. Lots of stuff to see, nice well kept grounds and for the history buffs it's a must... More

Being on the water makes this sight feel so relaxing while touring the grounds. There were many college age students interning at the sight for rifle and cannon demonstrations, also marching. In the kitchen building, they were cooking stew that is available for sale. It was also a nice break to exit the back gate which brings you into downtown... More

We visited on a beautiful sunny day. This picturesque site is located on the river. Lots of history here. There was also a Fall Festival "tasting" event underway, so we were able to sample many of the local food & beverages. Great way to spend an afternoon/evening

I expected much more and was disappointed. However I know that on special days the place is hopping and I will try to make an effort to come out on one of those days.

Amherstburg is one of the places where the fighting happened during the war of 1812. This fort has a lot of good information on display. Very historic and easy to walk on the grounds.

As a War of 1812 buff I thoroughly enjoyed this. Provided a sound perspective of the significance of the fort during and after the War of 1812 (rebellions/incursions of 1837-38). Museum exhibits were outstanding. There are musket demonstrations at different intervals during the day and the day that I was there was stew day ( I did not try it).... More
