Visited the church at the end of the troll train ride but was disappointed that we were not allowed in. The floor is dangerous so the doors are kept tightly closed. Its an old church.... the new one is just down the road.... but still...More

The walk up from the town center to the church is well worth the effort. The building is early 14th century and beautifully preserved. Next to it is the workshop of the foremost maker of Norwegian violins. His legacy is maintained by a local craftsman...More

Lovely day means out door photography at best. Cannot go inside as floor was rotten. But pictures from outside only. A wood carving shop is opposite and it is aneed interesting place to see.

This historic church is nestled in the beautiful Hardanger Fjord area (Eidfjord). What a beautiful piece of history! Well worth a visit.

We took a short hike around the small town and came upon this beautiful church. We did not stop to go inside. Be sure you get the map from the Tourist Information place. The town is very small and it's hard to get lost.

Would have loved to have seen the inside in person, but we arrived late in the day, and the church was locked. Otherwise, it's a picture perfect little church in a beautiful setting that looks like it could be used in Fairy Tale books. Absolutely,...More

We didn’t see this church, but it’s on one of the short hikes you can do in town in your free time. You can pick up a map at the Tourist Office near the dock. We took, and recommend, the Yellow Trail hike by the...More

Small church at centre of village has now been replaced by a new church. Not sure whether this is still in use. Small grassed church yard with graves
