The best decision I made while travelling in Thailand was to stay in this village. If only I had stayed longer. The village is well located for visiting the summit of Doi Inthanon and waterfalls in the region. The bungalows are in a nice setting overlooking the river and simple but neat and clean. The villagers are very friendly. I was invited in for free and plentiful fresh coffee at the local 'coffee shop' which was just a shelter where the locals would gather to drink the freshly brewed locally grown coffee and have a natter. I was also invited to join a few locals around a fire after dinner where we did our best to overcome the language barrier to answer questions about our lives and cultures.

It was just beginning of rice growing when We got back to this village. Not much of the endless green paddies but we were so glad to be here....
We have the new room up hill by the steps rice field...breathe of fresh air....

I have visited this valley a few times and was there again recently. I was disappointed this time as some of the rice fields have been converted to grow vegetables. This is understandable I guess from the farmers point of view, but as a photographer is was very disappointing to see the beautiful vista I remembered has been pretty much ruined. The accommodation is clean, but very basic and not really so comfortable. The food was average.

Did not stay overnight at this village but just a brief visit but thoroughly enjoyed the short visit. We were brought to a coffee place where the villages brewed fresh coffee for us free. They were really friendly and brewed excellent coffee. The village actually cultivate coffee and thus, the beans were freshly ground and brewed. They are growing arabica seeds though not as fragrant, pack a punch. Understand that they are not primitive Thais but hailed from the north, laos or Burma which I cannot remember. A good insights into their village life and a rewarding experience.

I visited Mae Klang Luang for a one day trip and also an overnight stay trip.
Both are enjoyable.
Homestay is various price.
If you want to try a local feeling of stay, then it is good to book a night.
(for me, I am a city-lover so one night in this homestay style is enough)

Coffee shop is also good with lovely view.
It opens daily from 8am to 8pm.

I found local people are very friendly.
You can walk around the village, enjoy coffee and a chat with a guy who makes filtering coffee for everyone with donation price.
I highly recommend to add this village visit when you plan a trip to Doi Inthanon National Park.

I adored this place! We woke up early to watch the sunrise, it was spectacular, we walked around the village and met the villagers, visited the orchards and basket weavers.
A wonderful experience.
The rooms are basic and the bathroom was a little smelly, but I was not expecting luxury, this is about the experience and the views.
We had breakfast and dinner on site and both were lovely, and evenings were spent drinking a beer on the veranda of the room. Perfection.
