Visited this Temple .

Scam 1) Some thugs try to sell a small package of garland for INR 100 out side the temple...please don't buy from them
Scam 2) We need to pay INR 150 for pooja at the counter and get a the bag of pooja items....but still the preist asks for money...after performing pooja.
Scam 3) after finishing the pooja at exit they try to sell you some useless stuff in a bag claiming it as parihara prasadam...@150..please don't buy....
Just visit the shivalinga there and pray whole heartedly....he will shower the blessings...
Please don't encourage such scams and fall in trap

1) In the entrance some thugs try to sell you garland for 100 - it's a scam....avoid buying.
2) But you need to buy INR 150 ticket for pooja....but after pooja the priest begs again for money....don't know why we initially paid INR 150 at counter.
3) once you finish the pooja and again come out ....there is another gang trying to sell you a bag telling it contains parihara prasadam ( stuff which is worthless)....it's also a scam.
4) And finally the same gang waits at the hall to sell some more prasadam for INR 20.

The temple board or the any government agency asks them anything..... My advice...if you believe in God... just visit the Siva linga there....or stay at home and pray with confidence.

The temple and surroundings are a must see in this part of tamil nadu. It is unfortunate that the temple premises have not been maintained well. I could still see rubble and damaged structures as in my previous visit. Hope the Administration does the needful. Please beware of the men around the ticket counter trying to fleece you. You will need a ticket for conducting puja/archana. The ticket costs 100-150 INR and comes with a bag containing puja essentials. Buying more flowers or puja related purchases is optional. Please buy directly at the counter and avoid the men around the counter trying to pass on advice. The priests inside the sanctum are very resourceful and explain most things. They will give you time in case you need information.

Overall a pleasant experience barring the unscrupulous thugs at the counter trying to make you purchase things you will not need.

On the day of 15 July 2018, I visited this temple(I have written as no option to select this date). I came to know this temple through Internet. It is believed that if unmarried person visits this temple and pray to god as per instruction by priests. They had provided lemon, coconut and garland. Charge was around 150 as I remember. At around 4:00 PM Temple was opened and there was special line for married and unmarried couple. I followed instructions and did as priests suggested. Next morning I also drank lemon as suggested by someone.

I came to home with garland as suggested and kept it in cupboard in front of God Photo. I waited for one year. In this I did not even meet for single girl for marriage.
I tried many thing, registered on BraratMatrimony also tried to get girl for love. But never succeeded.

So I request you that guarantee provided for marriage is not real one. Never visit this temple for marriage purpose. There is no guarantee of marriage. This is my personal experience.

If you want to visit for Darshana of Mahadev and temple, then temple is good and you can get blessing of Mahadev. But for marriage, I would not like to recommand this temple as my marriage is not happened in promised time. Morever, I would like to add that there is strong planetory condition of marriage in my birth chart. But even after blessing of Kalyan sundareshwar, I was not married. Not even met single girl for marriage.

I had only one request came in Bhratmatrimony.com site in one year time, which family of girls cancelled later without even meeting me.

My planets are also very good in chart and this blessings should add more blessing for marriage, but still this temple really broke my trust.

So summary is: "Visit for blessing of god, but don't believe that you will get married"

The temple is a famous one and according to local lore- it is where Shiva and Parvati has their earthly wedding. Understandably this temple gets a lot of pilgrims coming in the hope of a good marriage match. You have to visit the temple twice- once before and once after as a married couple and is primarily visited by people who have any sort of issues/ obstacles concerning their marriage. I returned with my husband a second time to complete the rituals.

Costs: The Pooja costs 150/- both times and rituals are told to you before and after. This is done batch wise for a set number of people at one time. However the temple management has a VIP Puja (just like all managed temples) which we did for 550/- which included you finishing the rituals in 15 mins versus the regular Pooja which can take time. This is done individually and not with other people. Essentially if you have the patience- wait but remember it is hot and crowded usually. we visited in May and it was burning at 42 degrees - at 11 am when we reached. We also looked like city people who’d be willing to pay so obviously we’re easy catches for the people looking for prospects. Anyhow. The puja was done well and rituals were completed properly. It’s a beautiful idol but you can’t take pictures.

How to reach: Either from Kumbakonam station (1 hour) or from Mayiladuthurai station (25 mins). Take a cab (We hired one for 650 INR for 3 hours for the entire start to finish process ). There will also be additional panchayat entry pass for 20 INR

Thirumanancheri is located near Cauvery basin in Nagapattinam district. Shri Kalyana Sundareswarar is very famous temple also known as marriage temple as one can find lots of bachelor, spinster and married couple visting this temple. Its is believed that, if there are any obstacle in getting marriage, indiviaual along with family come here before marriage get pooja done, priest here gives you a garland along with Kumkum, Vibhuti and Lemon and instruction that needs to be followed for 45 days. After that all the obstacles will go off. Once the person get married he/she need revisit the temple again with the spouse and return the old garland. Please make sure one understands the instruction to be followed before leaving the place and follow it as told to get the fruitful result. Be careful about the people who cheat you at the entrance of temple. The pooja items cost just cost 150 Rs only.
