One of my favourite temples in Tamil Nadu. This is in Nagapattinam district. From Vaitheeswarankoil it is 33 kms. The location is amidst fields( a lovely sight). The main deity is Lord Meghanathaswami. His consort is Sri Lalithambigai. Significance is to Ambaal. The Goddess is so beautiful seated on the Sri chakra with Abhaya haatha mudra. The pandit narrated that many years back Ambal appeared in the dream of a lady devotee who lives in Bengaluru and asked her to offer anklets to her in this temple. Immediately that devotee fulfilled Her order. Till then no-one observed the sculpting expertise to the deity that there was just enough space around the two ankles of the deity to tie the anklet. Only after that many devotees start offering anklets to Ambaal. This is the Kshetra where Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam ( a sankrit hymn ....in praise of Ambaal describing her beauty in 1000 names .....by Hayagriva to Sage Agastyar )was said to have occurred (Upadesam). So many devotees visiting this temple keep chanting this in front of Ambaal's sanctum sanctorum. Sage Agastyar composed Lalitha Navarathnamala here. There are Kshetra pureeshwarar and a Durgai sannidhi. Very beautiful. The photos are self explanatory. Anyone who is visiting this temple for the first time, please visit during daytime to closely observe all the deities. There are 2 Shivan sannidhis. The sthala vruksham is bilva tree. Every Hindu should visit this temple atleast once in a lifetime.

The temple is very beautiful and the deity Lalithambikai is very beautiful. After the puja the temple priest will shake the anklets of the Goddess to beg her to hear our prayers. The temple also house Lord Shiva. This temple is a must see temple during Navagraha tour as you would pass by this temple in your travel.

Travelled to Sri Lalithambigai temple from Kumbakonam with my parents by car. First visited Thirukadayur Sri Abhirami temple and then to Thirumeychur which was about 1.30 from Thirukadayur. Its a very old and beautiful temple. My mom had a Golusu Prarthanai at this temple & contacted some person associated with this temple beforehand about this prarthanai. She was told that Anklet(Golusu) could be purchased from the pooja shop near temple itself. As weren't sure of the size and length we thought it was best to buy near temple itself. As we reached the temple around 10.30 am alankaram was happening to amman & hence couldnt meet the priest. There were few people who looked to be managing the temple advised us to get the anklet from first shop to the right of the temple. The lady at this shop showed us few silver anklets varying from 28gms to 50 gms & length of the anklet is 11.5 inches. We chose 41 gms one for Rs.1850. No bill was provided & was asked to say it was purchased from this shop. On going back inside, we had to get receipt for archanai with Saree & Golusu. We were advised that from next time we should buy the Golusu from outside with a proper receipt showing GST. Even though we agreed it was correct but it was strange as one of these people suggested us to buy from the nearby shop. It felt like there was link up between the shops and temple and little politics happening. We were given receipt for saree and golusu archanai. We asked if we need to pay anything for Pirandai rice prasadam which is given at 12.30 after uchikala pooja. we were asked to pay Rs.200 & but no receipt was given, We were told this 200 will be our contribution for tomorrow's pirandai rice prasadam but we can get today's prasadam at 12.30. We had an excellent darshan & priest had tied the sarees given by us and 2 other devotees all combined beautifully. Our's and few others' Golusu adorned the very beautiful Sri Lalithambigai. Pongal prasadam was given at 12 and pirandai rice prasadam was given at 12.30 after which the temple immediately closes.Must visit temple.

Located near Peralam. Very beautiful and ancient temple. Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam originated here. The Vimanam is different from other templetowers and it is alike the backside of an elephant referred as 'Gajaprusda vimabam'. We stunned to see the beauty of the Goddess. Must visit temple

This temple is dated around 2000 years. Goddess Lalithambikai and Lord Mehanadhar are the main deities. Very well maintained and one gets spiritually immersed in this place. Very close from Mayavaram/Kumbakonam.

The temple is well known for the Goddess Lalithambikai. Of course Meghanathar (Lord Shiva) is also prominent.

The sculptures in the temple are so enchanting. I loved the puraneeshwarar statue where Lord Shiva and Maa Parva this are in vathsalya pose the Lord holding the Goddess's chin. This immediately sends a happy and smiling expression on every devotee's face.

The best thing is that the Goddess is so powerful. I started reciting Lalitha sahasranamam during Navarathri 2017 and whenever possible on Fridays thereafter. Little did I know that I would get the opportunity to visit the goddess this March. Such is the power of the Goddess.

Very happy experience. Satisfied to the core of my heart....

The temple is tucked away in a small village around 1 km from the main road. The goddess here is Lalthiambigai. She is a powerful diety and many people from the country visit this place to receive her blessing. The most important thing to watch is the golden anklet that she wears at the foot. The priests will definitely show you when then show the Haarathi. The goodness is so beautiful and full of peace. What is less know is the power sanctum of Lord Shiva. This temple has been extensively sung by Appar one of the 63 Nayanmars. This place is also referred to as Ilankovil. The temple is well kept and it was not crowded when we visited the place. The temple has ample car parking. Regular Poojas are being performed here. Lord Shiva is called Meganadhar here. It is believed that Lalitha Sahasranaman orginated at this place. It is also inscribed in the walls of the temple.
