This is one of the very few temple for brahma. It is a very small temple which is an hour from tiruchi. There is a believe that visiting this temple and placing your horoscope at brahma feet will change your luck for the better. Before entering the temple one is suppose to light 36 oil lamps and place it in... More

We had visited this temple located at a walking distance of 1 km from MahaMaham tank during our vacation in Kumbakonam. We were staying in a hotel near the tank and used Google maps to locate this temple which is located in the by lanes. The temple is a small one with decent architecture where we saw idols of Lord... The inner sanctum just outside the garbagriha is a sannidhi for 3-faced Brahma and Gayatri devi. The fourth head behind brahma is covered with a cloth but u can see it in the mirror fitted behind when the priest removes the cloth (for a... More

The priest told us that there are only 2 temples dedicated to Bramha in Tamil Nadu. One in Trichy and one in Kumbakonam. We rightly reached there for the curtain closing time- the last Pooja at the temple at 8.00.p.m A very small temple compared to the other temples in Kumbakonam. Thimurthis are housed in this temple and Brahma is... More

Even though I had visited kumbhakonam several times I was not aware of this rare temple. By chance my friends informed me about this temple which is close to Hotel Rayaas which we normally stay. I had heard of one temple at Pushkar. This is in a small by lane. The story [ sthala purana ] about this temple is... More

Temples of Brahma are generally very rare to find. This temple is especially wonderful during Navratri, when many different Alankars are portrayed.

There is no temple on earth for Brahma, this is what the purana’s and hindu mythology says, so is this is also not a Brahma temple. This is mainly a Vishnu temple. The Brahma is kept on side as other deity without much of importance. The important part of this temple is the after Brahma loses his fourth head and... More
