A very early example of Mexican frescoes.

Not far from Teotihuacan, this old convent is well worth visiting. The original artwork is mostly intact.

This has a rich history and seems to have historical importance in the fact that this was one of the earlier missionary sites in the area surrounded by a populace indigenous natives. You will be rewarded with an interesting bit of history. This convent was abandoned due to the mod and water a flood from the Texcoco lake, now mostly dry, that filled it. Unfortunately we missed the free guided visit.
