Its a small beach with Lord shiva and Lord krishna temple a very beautiful place to visit and have a good time in the evening hours with family and friends The best i liked is the Temple pond for swimming the fresh water and the fish inside were very refreshing.
Any one can have a nice bath and a nice evening looking at the sunset from the beach its really beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy a evening with family.

You can walk in this part of sea as it is not deep. Catch up with local Sea food available and very friendly people. If you are lucky go for a canoe ride. It will be a lifetime experience

This is an area which neat and well maintained as the footfalls are less . But during seasons like Karkida Vavu etc one can see thousands of people moving to the Beach for doing a Dip in the Water and offer prayers . Well connected by Buses .

A small but beautiful beach which is in the outskirts of Kollam town. It is more of a religiously popular place where people gather on special days like Karkidaka vavu to perform 'Bali' which is meant for pleasing the souls in heaven. The place is undoubtedly beautiful and less crowded in normal days. I am quite sad to say that the beach area and the water is spoiled with many things deposited (I couldn't believe my eyes when the waves come, there were clothes, photos of poor grandfathers and grandmothers etc). I believe that the aim of such rituals should be to purify our minds and not to spoil such gifts from nature. I have a humble request to the concerned authorities to do something to create awareness among public to use this place in a respectful way....

Beach is neat & not much used even by the local. Enough place to play around with the family. Sea is a little rough & the roads which leads to the same is small.

Visited this beach in connection with a religious function. It is worth visiting in the sense the beach and the vishnu temple nearby are years old and it is believed that the saint parasurama has a role in the placing of the idol of Vishnu in the sanctum sanatorium.
Do not go inside the sea for a swim it is a bit risky.

This beach is popular for its belief that last rites of a departed soul performed here give eternal peace. It is normally done during the morning hours.

Lots of people visit there in connection with lastrights of their parents and other relatives who are no more. There are trained priests to help to perform these things.
