Mostly tourist stuff

Lots of shops, mostly tourist type things. Good art crafts though. Food places are OK and some nice pieces and antiques.

Expensive with very poor service. Note to management; Oysters are usually served with Tabasco, lemon and black pepper... Black pepper isn't expensive. Get some.

This is a great place for bargain hunting for authentic African paintings. Just bought another great painting on canvas at a fraction of the cost I would have paid elsewhere. Never pay the asking price. Offer 10% of the asking price and negotiate from there. I never paid more than 25% of the asking price. The general atmosphere of the... More

We bring overseas friends here almost every time we have them. Wonderful place with diverse shops. Especially like the antiques places and the used book shop.

From the moment One entered you could easily see that this place was a tourist trap. When you entered the market you were quickly attacked from all sides by vendors who refused to receive no as an answer. If you were willing to buy one of the mass produced items they would either before packaging it switch it for one... More

We had 2 dogs with us so we're not pressurized as many other visitors were. The village is pet-friendly so we will return as some of the restaurants said they were happy to serve us.

Lots of see and buy, but be prepared to be followed by the vendors, each trying to outdo the other - feels like being harrassed. One has to bargain and all the vendors sell the same things, some more expensive than others. But it is fascinating.

This is a retail supermarket with aggressive storekeepers selling authentic African art at ridiculous prices. I only hope they don't swindle the original artists as badly as they did to me. I got home and discovered that the wood carved animal, for which I had payed an inflated price because they make you feel so guilty when you try to... More

This place is huge and comprise hundreds of small craft shops offering everything from local crafts like statues and paintings to T-shirts, sunglasses and handbags. At times you may feel oblige to buy as everyone is asking to support his/her business. Surely there is a nice stuff to purchase as souvenirs from SA. There are also many restaurants to chose... The site was well catered to suit all ages and had plenty of activities and restaurants. The markets were amazing with lots of choice but the sellers were a bit in your face. We also found the prices of activities and products a bit extortionate, but I'm glad we visited :)
