My husband and I visited Argostolli from Lourdas by the public bus for 2 euros each.
Beautiful waterfront cafes, very reasonably priced, plenty of lovely shops for gifts.
We visited the lovely small chapel - St Nicholas and we were also lucky enough to see...More
Argostoli has plenty of shops & restaurants to keep you entertained, as well as the odd turtle 🐢 making an appearance in the harbour.
You'll find the best shops set back a street or two from the harbour road.
The ferry trip to Lixuri is...More
We arrived about 9.30am and most of the fishing boats were in, their catch on display. We bought calamari from the fish retailer and a beautiful Sea Bream from a boat, the latter costing €20. My advice would be to walk to the end of...More
The restaurants immediately alongside the harbour are the best places to eat here away from all of the tourist traps in the town plaza. Great beers and lovely food. Seemed to be where the locals ate. Staff were excellent both during the day and in...More
Great place to see the loggerhead turtles each morning, plenty of places to sit and relax and enjoy the views and have a coffee or something to eat. The fruit and fish markets nearby too. Then the town is just metres away ......
Argostoli Harbour is a beautiful place I could stay there for a week. Walking around the shops was great, the square was wonderful. We visited an art gallery while we were there and the pictures were amazing. It is such a beautiful place.
Nice point of interest in Kefalonia. There are a lot of shops in proximity. You can also take your meal on the local restaurants/tavernas near the marina. There is a bridge in the port. From that bridge you can see the turtles and a lot...More
We visited here a few times - couldn't keep away from trying to look for sea turtles!
We enjoyed having a walk around the shops here, which were pretty reasonably priced - the harbourside tavernas are a little dearer than where we were staying (Katelios)...More
This was the last port on our cruise ship's itinerary and it was a pleasure to walk about. The incredible yachts in the harbor are worth seeing but so too are the many interesting shops in the side streets.
The harbour itself was nice enough but there are far prettier on the island (such as Fiskardo). There's a great selection of bars and tavernas with views out across the lagoon. What really makes this a 'Must visit' is seeing the loggerhead turtles swimming alongside...More
