Located very close to San Salvador, Coatepeque Lake is a must visit meanwhile in El Salvador. We spent the day at Mikiterio, a family owned bed and breakfast located just in front of the lake. The grounds are perfectly manicured and you have 180 degrees...More

This place is breath taking. I recommend you take a panoramic picture. If you don't like your picture drive or walk a bit more and try again. Every angle is beautiful.

As part of my private tour for a day, we drove to the rim of this awesome lake for the views and a bite of lunch. Our outside table over-looked the lake and it was indeed a beautifully peaceful sight. The little restaurant also had...More

Ate at a local restaurant with tables on the dock. Music from live band. Took a boat tour which mostly stayed along the shoreline. It was nice to get out on the water. Beautiful!

It is a beautiful lake located in a crater. Has spectacular views from the surrounding mountains. There are plenty of restaurants on the top and few are on the shore, although the road to the shore is pretty bad.

Lovely lake in Coatepeque. There are few restaurants along the shore so you can eat some nice food while watching the beautiful scenery of the lake. It only takes less than 1 hour from san salvador. Prepare swimsuit if you want to dive in.

I'd recommend renting a house online. Most of the properties are private houses. There are 2 Turicentros "tourist centers" but the only hotel is Torremolinos, and its not very well maintained, check out the reviews here on... More
