You have a path to walk from the biggest one to this little one (from century XVII) - it is small but charming and the trip worth the visit. Go for it !!!

It is a usual church, but is quieter than the more famous basilica. there is a square in front of the church with lots of stands.

Don't miss out on this one! Everyone goes to the big one down there but some of them overlook this one, where it all started.

Worth visit for its beautiful painting and old style from 18th century. Unfortunately, it's not well maintained.

After seeing the National Sanctuary we took the bridge into town. Besides seeing all of souvenir shops I also visited the Basilica. It is worth the walk from the national sanctuary.

Basílica do Santuário Nacional de Nossa Senhora Aparecida is the second largest Dom after the Peters Dom in Rom.
It is well worth a 3 hours visit. Have a slow walk around this really huge area. Brasilians from all over Brasil go there at least once in a lifetime and pilger.
Everything is calm clean and looks beautiful.

Is to believers, even if a place that everyone can visit is about faith. Its one of the sacred places for catholics in Brazil, can be also a tourist attraction.

We visited the basillica and we joined in with the mass at 9am. The scale of the basilica is amazing. Its not hugely decorated but has the black mary and some other nice features such as the cross above the altar and stained windows.

The old church is more quaint and has alot of character in it from the building architecture to the indoor decoration. I loved the contrast of both.

I enjoyed my visit there. The candle room and room with personal belongings donated to the church are great features.

We love the old Basilica! Beautiful, cozy, you breathe faith and history when we are in it. A place of visitation of saints and a lot of prayer.
