Pretty straightforward - monastery, a hotel and other buildings. Amaziing views. The road to there is quite scary- many turns and it is hard to pass other cars.
Recommend it.

A wonderful monastery in a rather remote place. The monastery has a very beautiful exterior and it reminded me a bit of the Rila Monastery. The interior is also very beautiful, it is decorated with wonderful frescoes, the surroundings are also very nice.

It is a small Monastery on a deep mountain.
No very crowded, but much better than other busy Monastery. Loved this Monastery.

This monastery is set in the most beautiful location. The church is very much in use and there was a baptism when we visited and the family were so friendly. Lovely to also just sit outside in the sun. Restaurant is ok but can imagine it could get very busy and slow if lots of people there

St. Joakim Osogovski was a gem in a lovely setting outside Sofia, Bulgaria. There is a beautifully preserved church with lovely frescoes with the church itself in a picturesque valley. In this setting is the Monastery Hotel with an onsite restaurant that served wonderfully prepared meals. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. There are quite a few steps down to the site - no elevator - so can be a challenge for anyone with lots of or heavy luggage. Well worth the visit to the monastery and a stay in the hotel.

Pretty cathedral/church. Decent food at the restaurant up on the hill at the monastery.

Beautiful frescoes inside, quiet and so peaceful. Can’t hear a peep inside. Could spend a good hour here looking all around at the interior and outside frescoes as well as the other interior details.

At the restaurant upstairs, we ordered the Greek salad, chicken steak with a side of fries and a monastery burger with fries.

The fries weren’t bad, but the cheese on them was pointless, fries were not crispy, the pommes frites of Europe I remember from college.

The monastery burger was tasty to my husband, tasted like a mix of pork and beef or maybe all pork even?

The chicken steak wasn’t bad, bit bland, fatty and sinewy. It would have been better with some spicy seasoning besides salt and pepper or BBQ sauce or something else to kick it up some.

Excellent stay for what they charge. Clean room, extremely quiet location, friendly people. Private parking. Breakfast OK. Working equipment in room and bathroom. Efficient administration during check-in and check-out and possibility to change euros. Visitors oriented.

The monastry is quite a drive up a mountain road, drive with caution as there are some quite sharp bends which climb at the same time, although it is in Macedonia it is quite near to the Bulgarian border.
There are 2 churches here, 1 from the 12th century and the other from 19th. It is set amongst trees and hills and enjoys a peaceful spot. I was glad to see it not overrun with tourists, I think though Macedonia is only at the beginning of exploting its jewels to the outside world. Now is the time to visit.
