This place is recommended by all taxi drivers as they get commission for recommendations. It doesn’t have suitable rides for toddlers . I went here with my mother and toddler in February when it was snowing. I found it totally waste of money . My baby and my mom couldn’t ride on horse. And almost all of rides were not for them . So not worth paying huge entry fee here. Instead visit other villages near Shimla like Nalkhanda, Chile both places are v beautiful. In kufri one can directly visit zoo and shopping stalls near zoo by car . Do not fall pray to taxi drivers and horse owners who charge high to visit this place . This place is rusty and not worth visit .

People of kufri are pathetic. They treat the visitors like "Bakra". They charge money to go at the spot in thousands. They first climb the mountain by horses which is like putting ones one life in danger and it takes around 15 to 20 mins. After tht they fill people like animals in the jeep to take them to the main spot while the condition of route is worst while it just take 2 mins by jeep to reach the main spot. And only this much of journey costs around 500 per person. While u have to again pay in thousand for the stupid adventure activities which doesn't actually has any meaning. In the beginning they say tht they'll take you to 3-4 pts like mahasu peak, fagu valley, n some temples. While actually they jst drop you to the apple garden with jst few trees of apple leaving you to wander all alone on tht hill top which really makes one feel like being cheated by those bastards. And while you are dealing with all this and thinking of coming back down. They'll make you wait for hours to take you down as they're least bothered about you as they've got all the money from you. And after waiting for more thn an hour they rush the horses like anything putting you life in harm. My own son fell down from the horse hurting his elbow. He was jst 7 year old i insisted them to jst get one horse for him n me. Bt they want to loot money from us so they forced us to take 2 horses separately. And at the end he fell while he was alone also while he fell down some more horses were coming frm behind which literally gave me a heart attack as he could have gone under their feet. So it is just like paying in thousands and putting life in danger. So solely i would advise that please do not visit this rubbish place.

Most of the rides are for adults with very few rides for kids. The place is too far from Shimla. Staff at the ticket counter lacks manners and gets irritated with couple of questions about packages. Even the rides for adults are very normal that you can get in any metro city. If you have limited time for Shimla, this place can be avoided

Please avoid the horse riding at all cost. They con you saying the ride is safe and the horses trained. While the horses are trained, the ride is far from being safe. Especially, if you are traveling with a child, avoid horse riding. The road is muddy and has steep inclines. Other horses or riders may run into you hurting your knees. There is nothing to see in Kufri and better to visit other scenic places like the Tara Devi Mandir or Ridge, Hanuman Temple in Shimla. If you are into adventure sports, better go to Manali.

One important thing: the horse-riding agency will con you in buying adventure sports packages and do not fall for this. They will charge you Rs. 1500 for 6 sports and once you reach there, many of these activities are defunct or controlled by locals who don't honour the money you have already paid for and you have to pay again.

Absolutely horrible experience! Your cab drivers will try taking you there to get a cut from the horse/pony riding scammers. When you walk up to the point where the scammers scam you into buying tickets for the horse ride and another 1000 bucks for some useless activity. I would have recommended a rating of 0 since there is nothing but barren land at the end of the horse ride and a few tea shops at the location. Additionally, the activities are not worth the money, only a few metres of zipling.

Please use your time in Kufri in exploring the santuaries and bird parks nearby.

Horse riding is one of the unsafe option here. They are just concerned with there money only and if you question them it is there responsibility to take us safe to the top they are directly refusing that if anything happens to you we are not responsible, even if you die we won’t be responsible. The path is so messy and the horses keeps colliding with other horses and walls at some places. Don’t know why govt is not doing anything and taking some strict action against them or the govt is only concerned with the revenue. Also the guy with which we were travelled have 8 horses what the hell is going on.

We visited this place since it was as per our cab package however wasn’t as exciting as its hyped! You can get here by public transport or private cars and near the parking lot you find lot of people offering packages of activities - horse riding, telescope views, ziplining, Burma bridge etc. We took their 3k package for two people - They arranged for two horses to take us uphill, and upon getting down we were directed to the place where the activities are and the telescope viewing point! The views are good however the horse ride seemed little dangerous and some kind of torture for the poor animals who were tired a lot!

Most of the rides are for adults and limited options for kids. There is nothing new in the rides and some of the rides do not even look safe by the maintenance standards. Mostly a wastage of times as one can get way better options in the any amusement park in large cities

This is an ideal place having ropeway, snow sliding, Photography, shooting range, etc. all in one place. Gives a breathtaking taking view of mountain slopes. Approach to place is through Pony ride and as we went in winters the place was filled with slush and mud. Had to wear Gum boots. Lot of shops en-rooute selling tit bit touristy things. Good place to play with snow too. Start early to reach on time and avoid crowd rush. You can visit Himalayan Nature park either of the way. At the top there are god eateries and be comfortable.

It is one the most horrible experience I ever had in my life. This horse ride is not at all recommended for anyone. The horses are completely left on their own and they also tend to go very close to the valley. There is visually no railing. The entire road is muddy and slippery. The horse also slips and people have got hurt. There is agression among the horse owners to go quickly that makes the journey really scary. They won't listen to you. I hope I would have learnt earlier about this and wouldn't have left my life getting scarred by the experience.
