Very crowded place. Only way to reach is to hitch a horse ride. Prices are all fixed and reasonable. Nothing much to do at Mahasu peak. Lots of Maggie places. Some picturesque spots as well. Good for one time visit.

Visited in March 2022. We got light snowfall as well as skiing experience. Right from the time you leave the taxi its a scam. Family package which is overpriced for ski suit, boots, horse ride plus separate charges for experiences/jeep drive to apple garden and few other things. You have to take the horse ride (500 per head) to get to the top. The route is stinking and full of mud and it will splash on your clothes (so you have to hire ski suit at 500 and gum boots at 200 per head). On top it was a good experience because of the snow but eveything else is over priced.
On the ground they tell you 500 Rs for 3 tube rides, on top a diiferent guy says its only 1 ride and so on. There is a bunch of folks scamming you out of 10 Rs per head (small amount but 100s of visitors for them) which is to be paid to the HP govt. They tell you this at the base itself. What they dont tell you is that you have to pay 10 Rs twice and only one of them gives the actual receipt.

For better experience to play in the snow for much cheaper, visit Kufri zoo. 50 Rs per head and there is a snow zone at the end after the bear and leopard cages.

The only good experience to reach there is the horse ride ,which is scary but enjoyable for one time .Otherwise it's extremely crowded .They charge you exorbitant prices for the horse ride 500 INR,200 for the gum boots which are not in good condition and then another 500 for the dress. The dress can be avoided. After taking this money you are pretty much on your own .The Shoes provided are worn out and do not serve the purpose. They are so worn out that people were slipping and sliding on the top and some of them were grieviously wounded .Go there if you want to experience the horse ride . Otherwise it can be avoided

The Mahashu peak was a massive disappointment and a pre planned scam by taxy n tour operators. The horses are ill treated by their handlers with routine slaps and kicks. Felt sad for the poor things.
The peak is a complete rip off with everything in exorbitant costs from the adventure park to the scenic view points. Avoid avoid avoid at all possible costs ..spare some sympathy for the poor horses.

We went to this place with high expectations but at the end of the trip we were rather feeling disappointed. First of all, its a very crowded place. With about 500 horses in transit, the place is smelly. Horses are compulsory otherwise you can not reach the peak. You also have to take snow suit which are dirty and stinking. Charges are high for both. Then you have to pay extra if you are planning to do any activity. This tyre activity is complete waste. Moreover when you reach the top, you will not find anything fascination. Its full of people and does not let you enjoy the scene and enviroment of snow. My suggestion would be to go to Narkanda and enjoy snow activity. Not to forget that if you are planning to go such place, pls keep special care for small kids. it rather harsh for them to face such severe conditions. Most importantly, snow gets into their snow boots and they start to feel the frost bite which is kind of very dangerous

You can get a horse ride of 30-45 minutes to reach a place, they have planned.
They will promise to show you apple orchard but if its not the season, you will not see any thing
no guides will be there.
Pay a minimum of 1200( Horse -500, Shoe-200 and dress-500) to reach the place.
You can reach the place without horse too but the cab driver will not take you there as their commission is fixed.
Please ask driver to drop you at Kufri Adventure Park Entry Gate. There you will get vehicle and can reach the spot at 200 per person.
