This is one of the best places in kannur to visit.. Rear entrance which end up near to Fort is the best view point. Very quite during day time and just couple of bikers in evening. So if you want to spend a silent evening away from crowds, enjoying sunset, looking towards the harbour, one side and Arabian sea on other go to this point.I think the gate will close at 6 pm so make sure you check it before entering.

Situated in ayykara village in Kannur town. This is the fishing warf of Kannur town situated bang in between St Angelo fort on the right and the Arrakal museum on the left. Nothing spectacular during the day , but at dusk it takes on a life of its own views of the setting sun with docked boats in the forefront can be quiet spectacular.

It is about 3 km from Kannur town. It is a fish landing centre facilitating mechanised and motorised boats. Facility for auction is also available. It is very close to Kannur Fort. Those who have seen fishing harbours there is nothing special to see.

The historic Mappila Bay can be viewed from St Angelo's Fort, or accessed by road. Today, this area is a fishing harbour. At sunset, the views of boats docked at the Bay can be quite pretty.

It is a natural harbor situated in Ayikkara Kannur town. One side of the Bay is Fort St. Angelo, built by the Portuguese in the 15th century and the other side is the Arakkal Palace. Great scenery

Whatever your itinerary, Mapilla Bay is a must visit. I went here at the end of every day of my latest trip. The sea is so calm over here that I cannot imagine a more relaxing break. There is no beach that once can walk. This just provides a soothing view and a place to relax.
If you like fresh seafood, this the again the place to be. All the trawlers bring in their collect here.

The Mapplia Bay, once a port connecting Kannur coast with foreign countries is now a picnic spot and fishing harbor. The high wall from Kannur Fort separates the rough sea and the water is rather placid in the bay. The Arakkal Palace, Fort of St. Angelo etc are nearby which we could clearly see during the boat trip. Since it weather was not pleasant we didn't venture to the sea.

Mappila Bay is a fishing harbor near St.Angelos Fort. You can see a lot of fishing vessels in all sizes both big and small. This was a commercial harbor during Kolathiris.

We were so fortunate to arrive at Mappila Bay just as the fishing boats were arriving with their mid-day catches. It was quite an exciting time to watch the fishermen trade their wares on the beach; they even had their weighing scales with them.
