Beach is good. A clean beach. One can enjoy the sunset. But there are few issues:
1. Toilet available is absolutely dirty. It is not suitable for humans. This needs to be addressed on priority. Rs.40 is charged for absolutely nothing.
2. The approaching road is dead narrow with a level crossing as well.

Muzhapillangad drive-in beach is easily one of the prettiest beaches in India, and a definite must visit. It is the longest drive in beach across Asia, and being here with your car is an absolute delight for every driving enthusiast. In fact, Muzhapillangad is what tempted us to embark on a road trip from Mumbai, and in the process, experience the absolute delight that Kannur is. The sands on the beach are very clean and sheer, the views extremely picturesque, and you can simply go rampant on the instagram handle. The best time to be here is early morning (the beach opens at 6 am) and you would find minimal traffic around. Evenings should also be nice, but the no of cars are far more then.
The waters are protected from deep currents by the black rocks that protect the beach so this place is considered a swimmers paradise as well.
The beach is just off NH 66, on the way from Kannur to Thallasery (Google led us the wrong way, as usual - so do check with the locals).
One of the many beautiful things that Kannur hosts.

Muzhappilangad Beach in Kannur is one of the rare drive-in beaches in India. A fairly long beach, it is quite clean and free of garbage. There is a nominal charge for driving on the beach. Make sure you get your vehicle washed immediately after the drive to avoid rusting. Nice experience

Its a pretty big beach and the best part is you can take your vehicle right next to the ocean.
Sand is flat and hard enough to drive.
BUT, do not park your vehicle right next to the Sea or take your vehicle in Sea. We saw a car getting stuck as they went pretty close to the waves where the sand was loose.
Also, do not drive too fast else when you’ll apply brakes your car is gonna skid.
With these precautions you can drive safely here.
Pro-tip: towards the right hand side after crossing few stones there are two small beautiful and clean beaches. Do visit there and thank me later. :)

This beach is something that you should experience driving. We went on two evenings and stayed there until dark. Very clean and you have some shacks for snacks along the beach. Screw pine bushes (Thazhampoo) are maintained along the beach with other shrubs making it a natural protection. We could sight couple of jackals wandering in the night (around 8 pm) to feed on the crabs/fish. A must visit

Geez! its certainly a must do if you are a driving enthusiast, so much so, that I drove 200 kms. up and down just for this beach and it was totally worth it. The place is huge, I mean its the longest drive-in beach in Asia for nothing. Very clean and well behaved people. Avoid going too close to the waves to avoid vehicle getting stuck. Go for it.

This is the only drive in beach in Asia so it is must visit place. Make sure that when you travel to this there should be no cyclone because they won’t allow youbto drive car at that time. Nice place for taking pics and different feeling in driving car on sea shore

Fun place to go and drive around in the car. Remember, you cannot go deep into water as flooding the engine will be bad. You can still drive on the sand and a little bit into the water
There are couple of small shops close by offering tea and some snacks
There is an entry fees of 40₹
They are building a new promenade which will be good to walk on in the future

I am not too sure, but whatever I have heard is that you need prior permission to go to the island as it is a private property.
