Arduaine is a wonderfully moist and mossy coastal garden, influenced beneficially by the North Atlantic Drift and enjoyed by enthusiasts from all over the world. Twenty acres of outstanding woodland plants include not only a major rhododendron species collection with a leaning towards the more tender, but also all the usual spring-flowering favourites such as camellia, pieris, azalea and magnolia. Other trees and shrubs take the flowering season on into the autumn along with an inspiring miscellany of bulbs, perennials, climbers, water plants and ferns, many rare and unusual, many down to earth and familiar, all interesting and beautiful in their diverse ways. A spectacular coastal and island panorama can be enjoyed from the easily accessible cliff top viewpoint. Visitors are welcome every day and will find something of interest throughout the year, come rain or shine.

Our family had a very pleasant picnic alongside the approach footpath to the Garden itself enjoying the fine view and watching rabbits frolicking around! The garden itself is a delight and we have visited several times in the past. Naturaly spring is a good period owing to the preponderance of Rhododendrons and Azaleas but there is much to see all... Overlooking Loch Melfort and the Hotel of the same name you would never imagine on arrival what a treat is in store for you. These gardens are stocked full of exotic plants especially late spring flowering such as Rhododendrons Azalias and similar .13 lovely colourful ponds as well. Spring is the perfect tome to visit Arduaine. The scented azaleas add to the experience. At every turn you wander under or through foliage that gives off the particular scent that together makes me think of Scotland. When you reach the edge of the garden against the sea, the views out towards the islands are stunning, worth going just for... More

My partner and I visited the Gardens last week and had a very enjoyable morning. We ended up spending 1 hour 45 minutes exploring all the different areas which is great value for money at £6.50 per person. A free map is provided at the entrance or you can pay an additional fee for a Guidebook. There are also information... More

April is the perfect time of year to visit since the daffodils are still flowering and the rhododendrons are so colourful. The amazing thing is that the garden is beautiful but we didn't see any gardens

I have visited Arduaine Garden many times, but more recently I took a London friend of mine along so that he could see the red squirrels, and we weren't disappointed. Thanks to the gardeners and volunteers placing feeding boxes on some of the trees near the public paths, we were able to enjoy five squirrels playing, fighting and feeding. It... More

Lovely Autumn colours. Well worth a visit. Easy walk to the gardens from Loch Melfort Hotel. Book a meal in the wonderful restaurant or bistro following your visit.

After visiting Oban, drove down the coast to see what was there. Found this little NTS garden. If you have an hour or two to spare, you could do worse. The garden is lovely and well tended and the views out to Loch Melfort are stunning.
