WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is a 450 acre mosaic of lakes, scrapes, pools, streams and lagoons adjoining the salt marshes and shore of the scenic Burry Inlet. Whether you're a serious bird watcher or just looking for fun and relaxation, you can have a day of discovery whatever the weather. Hand feed birds from all over the world, watch the fabulous flock of Caribbean flamingos and discover hidden treasures such as little egrets, kingfishers, dragonflies and butterflies and look out for elusive water voles. Seasonal activities throughout the year including pond dipping, minibeast hunts, crafts and canoe safari and bike trails during the school summer holidays.

Thanks for your review, John. We're so glad you enjoy yourself and that your granddaughter loves visiting too. Alongside the Top Trumps trail, we will also have 'Feed the Birds with Santa' on December Sunday afternoons at 2.45. Don't forget the camera!

Spent a very enjoyable few hours at the Llanelli Wetlands (Monday 6th November). A dry, reasonably mild Winter's day. A lot of children there (a regular Toddlers' Group meeting) who were really enjoying themselves feeding the birds and with various activities in the visitor centre....More

As a member of WWT, this is my go-to place for a relaxing couple of hours in a great bird-watching environment. With plenty of hides, walks and ponds, there's plenty to enjoy and a very good café/restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed feeding the many diverse breeds of duck & geese with the seed bags sold there and had a nice panini for lunch. The cakes looked good but the coffee machine had broken so no hot drinks were available.

Suggest you look at Google maps and enter Llanelli Wetlands Centre. This will give you step by step directions which you can copy. Very quick from Carmarthen. About 40 minutes. Not really signposted until you get to Trostre... More
