A station stopped in the past with the "telegraph" desk still present. Virtually deserted, you can visit it inside and get close to locomotives stationary on the tracks. There seems to be a ticket office operating at certain times but it is not clear to me if only tourist trains or other depart.

We visitied this place during a Tempio excursion, but unfortunately the railway station hall was closed. The railway track by the way has been closed for a long time and is just being used sometimes for a tourist train in a narrow-gauge railway.

This is an old fashioned railway station of traditional Italian design like many on this line calling at the smaller villages en route.
The Trenino Verde (little green train) runs on narrow gauge lines from Sassari to Palau in the summer time.
Inside are the station building the walls are lined with wooden panels and there are interesting paintings on the upper walls.
There were some old fashioned nostalgic railway engines and trains parked outside.

All the stations along this line are similar in style with size depending on the local population. This is quite a large town hence a larger station. many stations along the line are no longer in use but this is a busy station. Inside on the ceiling is a mural. There are a couple of old steam engines on the track outside and some old carriages. Well worth a visit.

Arrived here on a tour by the green train. Statio looks so historic and the murals inside the station were delightful.

We were told to go to the bus station for 8.30 to get a bus to Palau but arrived at 8.00am. So surprised to not only find a lovely old Cowboy Western type building next to a train line but to find a decent café and booking office open as well. It really is a surprise when you visit. Buses are cheap so you can leave your car there and take a relaxing trip to any part of the island. The Little Green Train only operates in High Season although it does take 2 hours to get to Palau! But the scenery is probably worth the trip. Great bonus to our holiday.

The outside of this station I found lovely but not exceptionally so. The interior on the other hand deserves some time to admire it.

At the sight it is something incredible it seems to be catapulted back in time to when as a child I saw the old train readers it is an indescribable emotion (at least for me since I am a Sardinian emigrant) from the old station to the train too bad it is only used for tourism rating 10 not to be forgotten

Certainly the station has character, but the whole town, made of cobbled streets and granite houses, is austere. From this town you can go to La Valle De la Luna and Lago Liscia.
