A nice island near Turkey, it was our first experience in Greece, the sea is beautiful and in a couple of days you can see all the main sightseeing of the island by driving a car

excellent choice for summer vacation that has the perfect ratio of space and people

Samos is a relatively small island. It it not too crowded. you can always find space in beaches or in restaurants.
It is full of vegetation, pine trees and olive trees.
The beaches are plenty, both with pebbles and sand.
Kokkari, marathokampos kai pythagoreio are the main tourist spots.
Overall 10/10.

Beautiful Kokarri

I have had 2 holidays in Kokarri recently and loved everything about them. So many bars and restaurants but my favourite restaurant was Avli, food amazing and live traditional music evenings so different. The staff are so welcoming. A new cocktail bar/restaurant on the beach is Nusa, again fabulous food with a perfect view over the bay.
I booked on a hiking trip into the hills and booked yoga at the surf school, both were very good.
I look forward to returning next year.

Quintessentially Greek Seaside Village

This is an amazing town right on the water. It is very touristy but the food is very local. It is great to wonder around a little alleyways It’s fine yourself in the most amazing scenery. Well worth visiting

Incredible and amazing island very green with very clean waters. I love this island the food and the people living there. Absolutely to be visited !!

Kokkari on Samos is the best place to bi in Samos (maybe in hole of Greece) the atmosphere and the food people and the nature is the best.

Boring island. No activities.

Boring Island. Not much activity.

There was a constant heavy wind all day, picking up extra from late afternoon, so all water (ocean and pools) were cold. No water activities.

Only very few sites worthwhile visiting on the island. Rented a car, and one day would have been enough.

Little traffic, because of few tourists.

Beautiful Greek island

We were 3 days in Samos island and was a great experience. Our hotel was in samos Bay and is a beautiful city but better recommend pythagoreon to stay... is less windy and beaches are calm. There´s too many things to do in the island, monasteries, pythagoras home, wine museums. It was a great time there. Totally recomended

Day trip to samos

Booked a day trip to samos for 3 cost 105 euros with tour company the kushadashi port
Very nice boat trip across to the samos port of pythagorian but having been picked up at our hotel by taxi at 07:30 we reached the port at about 11:30 which would be similar to the journey from london to turkey and our hotel is only 2 minutes from the port of kyshadashi
Boat crossing said 60-90 minutes but you need first to queue with passport to get tickets having already booked and then you go on to queue a few mire times to get on the boat
So with little time to explore beyond pythaorian we stayed there and did have a nice day with lunch and then just lounging on the beach but be aware you haven’t got much time to do much on a day trip
We did get a quote for a taxi to kokkadi which is 20 km from pythagorian of 35 euros each way which is quite expensive by Swiss prices!
Returned to the boat as it departs at 17:30 and again some queuing as a man carefully checked our tickets and passports for no ibvious reason as you then had to go througb passport control and then the boat crew checked our tickets so it’s a mystery what he was doing and why he was so slow
Apart from that the day trip is really a lovely trip to pythagorian and back with time for lunch and a swim
