Not Lago di Braies, but worth the visit for views. The walk around the lake is not challenging, but a good 45 minute walk with great views. Go in morning and watch the peaks light up as the sun hits. If collecting gnomes, green clad ones in the big hotel cafe shop.

The Misurina lake is one of the very mediocre lakes I saw in the Dolomites. There was nothing much to do. And since we had already seen Lago Di Braies before reaching this place, lake Misurina appeared very disappointing.

Great spot for a picnic or to camp. Close to Tre Cime. Much cheaper and closer than camp locations like Camping Catinacco Rosengarten. Stay here for less money and great scenery.

Great Lunch Stop on the road from Venice to the Dolomites. (Drive onto the TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO.)

The walk around the lake is easy and well worth the time. Much more enjoyable than the Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee.

It's not far from Cortina (around 30 km).
This is one of the most famous lake in Dolomites.
You can see Tre Cime from the lake on clear sky day.

A short drive from Cortina and magnificent views. The lake itself is pretty large and is a nice stop on the road. Certainly worth a stop.

In reality from here, can see the three peaks of Lavaredo at a distance; if want a closer look is better to go upper to the mountain, park the car and walk up… sadly, we are not trained hikers and because of limited time but still, is a nice drive up to this lake, bike around, relax, have a drink and admire the panorama.

Lago di Misurina is absolutely my favorite lake in the Dolomites. It is particularly stunning early in the morning when the light brings out the craggy contours of the Sorapis south of the lake, and the water is likely to be mirror smooth making for an unforgettable reflection.

Misurina has a connection to the 1956 Winter Olympics which where based in nearby Cortina. Long before the days where a purpose specific venue was built for just about every event, many of the events were held wherever an appropriate environment could be found. Misurina was the venue for the Men's Speed Skating event. Temporary wooden bleachers to accommodate up to 8000 spectators were built on the North end of the lake near the Grand Hotel Misurina. The various events were held from 28 January thru 31 January. After the Olympics were over, the stands were taken down and the lake slipped back into relative obscurity. Pictures of the event that can be found online show that it is just about unchanged from then.

Spectacular views of the lakes with the majestic mountains as a backdrop. I could spend all day here just chilling by the lake. We were there preseason so now of the ski lifts were working
